Careful with those droplinks. I put in some of the solid pillowball STi models on the rear, and wow! Quite the difference. Put in some Whitelines on the front, and ugh! What a difference, in the wrong way. The car crashed and bashed over bumps, and was too jittery for my tastes. Took the Whitelines off and the compliance returned without much detriment to the handling.

I was talking to Andy Tang... and there is a sweeping bend he knows.... on some track somewhere It is 50mph bend in a UK scoob, with MRT drop links it turned into a 70mph bend!!

Ride is affected though.... becomes very stiff... If you ran over a mouse you'd know its sex!

I've just bought some!!

Question

Any hints and tips for fitting them?

When the car is jacked up and on axle stands is there any preload in the links i.e. as I undo them are they going to hit me in the face?

Doc
You should change the links with the weight on the wheels. I used ramps. There was no tension in the links.

Just a note to say the ARB's and droplinks arrived next day, thanks Townend

Fitted the rears at the weekend, its a really simple job. As stated above, DO NOT jack the car up - fit them with the car sitting naturally. In fact, I managed to do it without the use of ramps but it is a bit tight.

However, I ordered solid droplinks for the fronts as well, even though I have an old WRX import, since mine are worn. Problem is these droplinks only fit EU and Oz Imprezas i.e. any Impreza with non-alloy suspension arms. These front droplinks do not fit WRX's(pre01), STI's or P1s.

So I have a set for sale.

So if you missed out on the group buy you can have mine for the price I paid, they are unused and still in the packet.

£36 +VAT less 10% is £38, I'll waiver the 7p

Question

Oh, and another thing

The adjustable rear ARB, is the hole nearest the end of the bar the softest setting?

Thanks

Got my drop links yesterday. Now all I need is the time to fit them.
Any idea what the special blue grease for the bushes actually is? Do they need periodic regreasing?

Grease is for the bushes, and yes you should give them a once over every now and again (I managed to clean off the grease after a drive through a dl00dy typhoon once!).

There wasn't a group buy as such. Town end gave 10% off every order if you mentioned Scoobynet.
