CDB now located and inspected all ok ready for build to start

Block one bored ready for 14mm head stud conversion

 

I spoke with Alan a few days ago and we have agreed on the 14 mm heads stud conversion with I beam rods ACL race bearings heat treated crank, Mahle pistons,uprated oil and water pump with a rotated garret GT35.

 

Change of plan now fitting cosworth pistons !

The cars final resting place before engine and gearbox comes out and gets delivered to Alan Jefferies for final works to engine and gearbox

The rest is coming out next week then ready for engine bay spray up

 

Well too a drive down to Boston to see the boys at PMB performance and I must say great lads and very helpfull and thanks for the 2 free radiator fans much appreciated.

I picked up the 6 speed jdm box full kit , took no time it getting it back to my mate Dave ready for cleaning and spraying ready to take down to engine tuner at the end of the month.

The kit came with front cradle which you can see in the pic all will be stripped and shot blasted ready for painting .
I even got the rear hubs with brembo callipers that will be painted black like the k sports I have on the front.

Gearbox cradle before it goes in for shot blasting and spraying blue same as rear subframe and lateral links drive shafts will be painted black to spruce things up and protect.





I've goto say these things are heavy but hopefully strong enough to with stand the power my new race engine will provide I'm sure it will, I have gone for the jdm box as the car isn't a top speed car but will be used for short sharp blasts of sprinting.

 

You will probably find you rarely use 5th gear for the sprints anyway .....

But wish I had a jdm box ad the jump from 4th to 5th is a big jump on uk gearing.

Lookin good and will be a weapon with the planned engine.....

 

The guys at PMB take a kicking every now and again, but I found them great whenever I've used them

 

Met them all today and to be honest they were a great set of lads !

Even gave me 2 complete radiator fans free !

I think Tim gets loads of parts from them and I've got a few freebies too

 

Rest of bits going in for shot blasting tommorow all shafts including prop getting painted red subframe gearbox cradle and lateral arms painted blue rear diff also in silver.

Should be mint underneath all bushes getting change with gearbox and engine mounts to be uprated don't want things moving around !!!

Just the last few bits to come out of the engine bay ie abs pump , radiator etc.... Then for a full engine bay steam clean ready for paint this weekend !

 

Rear subframe ready to pick up tommorow from shot blasters as with other bits ready for paint, masking off car tommorow ready for painting the engine bay for transporting down to engine tuner .
