People come out with so many reasons:

ie. I have no will power
It helps me relax
I could give up if I wanted to
I've really cut down
I'll stop one day
I enjoy smoking
I only smoke socially
I only smoke when I drink
It's a habit
I've smoked for so long, it will be impossible to give up
I like the taste
Need a cigarette after a meal

All total bollocks

You are simply addicted to nicotine and it's the exact nature of the evil drug that has been slowly destroying your nervous system and leading you to believe all the excuses above.

All you need to do is stop the supply of nicotine and don't let your mind fall for any of the usual excuses.

It is simply drug addiction and the way to beat any addiction is NOT to keep taking the drug that you are addicted to

Good points

It's a crutch, a habit AND an addiction.

You do the same thing in the same routine for years and years and then try to tell yourself to stop.

Set a target date, tell people, change your routine, drive another way to work, take the train, do something different.

Don't blame lack of will power, you're just scared of stepping out "onto the ledge". Do it, bust the habit. Don't hang around other smokers for a little while, most smokers don't want you to quit, they want you to fail because they too are scared of taking that step into the fagless world.

"You sure you don't want one"
"Here, have one of mine"
"One won't hurt"
"You can start again in the morning"

Change your habits (only temporarily), and QUIT. Do not see it as giving up the smokes, see the positive, the health, the cash, and the smells and flavours of the world coming back!!

30 a day, smoked for 22 years, gave up 4 years ago

It's called Champix and if you really want to give up but have no will power (like me) it works a treat....I smoked for over 20 years and tried giving up several times with no luck. Tried Champix and haven't smoked for over 2 years now.

I'll let you know

What do you think of them in general then mate? Do they 'feel' like you are smoking then?
What liquid flavours and strengths are you using? Do you have any tips after being a first time user that I should be aware of? Seen some topics about priming the atomizers etc etc? Any tips?

I thought they would be a load of rubbish but they aren't IMHO (there is some rubbish out there though) can't imagine the wicked stuff would be anything but good.Little bit of getting used to but doesn't take long

Just like smoking without the crap.Feel like a druggie when I say this! but you get the throat 'hit' as they say.Just using tobacco flavour and 18 mg at the moment.Tempted to try their flavour stuff later on with no nicotene.

I just followed the instructions.Didn't think about priming the atomizers but they are better after a couple of 'smokes'.You can just drip some liquid straight on to atomisers too

I really don't see the harm in them...quite enjoyable really! And for a weak willed no will power person like me who really enjoyed a smoke thats saying something! My wife is amazed...and I reckon I've saved £50 already

Smoked 20 a day for the last 11 years, quit cold turkey 9 months ago. Can't understand why I ever started, let alone did it for so long.

Good luck, stick with it.

There's nothing in them really Les...just creates an odourless vapour

Obviously nicotene is if you specify it but you can have no nicotene.

Very good point though! One I keep trawling the internet for to find a catch!!

Should you be lucky enough to reach 75, you will want to reach 100.

All you have to do is to take care of yourself, and life will be just as interesting. I know a few people in that situation.

18 days for me now.

People will think I'm nuts but tried some coffee flavoured stuff.

It's what I always imagined those Cafe Creme little cigars would taste like but never did

Was quite nice with a whisky last night
