What was your first computer?
- ZX80 (surprised no-one else started on these 'yoghurt pot plastic' white boxes that you seriously had to put a milk carton to one side of the hump to stop them overheating)
- ZX81
- ZX Spectrum 16K / 48K
- Commodore 64 (with tape deck and 1541 disk drive - possibly the slowest floppy drive on the planet).
- PCs (starting with a 386SX I think, and many, many since).

Parents bought an Atari 2600 when they came out so that was the first 'console' I ever used. Then first computer I ever laid eyes upon was a zx81 at primary school. Then got a zx spectrum 48k at home and spent a vast amount of time playing beach head before my parents changed it for a zx spectrum 128k. Then at 14 did 4 weeks work experience at £100 a week during the Summer holidays and spent the entire £400 on my Amiga 500 which I still have 23 years on. The first big item I ever worked for/saved up for.
First pc I ever used was a 386 at a mates house, was his Dad's and cost well over £2k
My first pc was a 486 dx2 66 which I later upgraded to a dx4 100 and went from 2mb of ram to 4mb of ram. Started off on win 3.11 then Windows 95 came out and changed everything.

I started out with a BBC B Micro, still got it somewhere. Moved on to the Amiga A500 some years later, then an A500+, Amiga 1200. Still got all those I think too. Then I got my first PC which was a 486. Was never alowed a console as my parents thought they were too expensive and all they did was play games. They finally changed their minds when the Playstation came out and I got one for Xmas in 1995.

Software house I was with was called Choice
They subcontracted mainly, but did design their own game which I worked on, but it was the biggest pile of shyte ever and cost them a small fortune to produce.
I mainly wrote for (through Choice)
Ocean
Codemasters
US Gold
When the local company decided to shut up shop I did get offered a job in the states, but back then I was still a bit green behind the ears and afraid to move to the USA.
Perhaps not truly a computer but started with an Atari 2600 console one Christmas which we loved - Space Invaders, Adventure, Pac-Man, Skydiver, Bowling, Night Driver, and may other great games I can't remember. Then got:
ZX Spectrum 48k (rubber keyboard job)
Commodore 64
Commodore Amiga A500 (with 1Mb memory expansion and second floppy)
Several PCs after that and quite a few consoles....

Remember the old Atari vs. Amiga wars and how the Amiga was better supported with games like Sensible soccer etc.
Them's were the days lol
