..........NEW LATERAL MD321 SERIES BILLET TURBO'S..........
#34
Hiya - any further news on these? Will a billet 321T make it a viable option for use on a 2.0 2005 Sti AVCS & DCCD) - stock 2.0 block + supporting 3" zorst and fuel pump? .. or will it still be horribly laggy.
Looking forward to seeing some dyno plots, especially identical car, billet vs non.
Cheers

Sorry guys, just seen this.
It's going to be a few weeks before the new T's are ready. I don't want to jump the gun, and then have to change the spec' again.
Mark.

Looking forward to seeing the results for the Billet T Mark, My T loves E10 100ron and as Stu (71/200) says lag is not an issue on a 2l STi with AVCS. Looking at the results the Clinic got with the billet wheels I'm really excited!
What sort of turn around time would you expect for the change to billet?
Can the inlet be changed to 76mm while you have it? If so, how much?

Mark -
I'm looking for a stable 500bhp for my Impreza.
as you (should LOL ) know, its a forged 2.1 with CDB, worked STiIV head with Supertec valves, uprated valve gear and Piper 'race' cams.
What would you recommend? A MD 321 V (billet) or GT30?
I'm thinking of a billet GT30. I dont want 550-600, but keeping it relativley 'unstressed' at 500bhp.
Do you guys also sell the rotated pipework that I'd need?

Adam,
Give me a call, and I'll run through the options with you.
Just had the latest version of the billet "T" arrive for testing. So just need to get it on a car with an original "T", so we can see what it does back, to back
Let you know the results...........

TX,
That may just be very convenient. Give me a call in the week.
Matt,
Garrett have got a billet version of the wheel, but it's not currently available on it's own at the moment, and I have no idea how it performs.

Mark,
What can be done for a GT30? Mine is being installed now along with some other supoorting mods, but I suspect spool to be around 3500!?!?(Im guessing), with a Billet version where would spool sit, obvious ball-park figures please?
Looking forward to your outcome
Rob

Rob,
Is it a standard rotated GT30, standard location, which version (there are several) what size engine, what version of heads, what other supporting mods ?
All of these will have an impact on where the turbo will spool up.
We're working on a range of billet wheels at the moment, and will post up when we have the final results.

If I send the turbo straight to you for the billet upgrade when the motor comes out, how long till it come back,
And what rpm will she see full bost at?
Thanx mark, Keep up the good work,
Dan

Dan,
The MD321T+ is no longer made, due the manufacturing costs, and that the MD321V spools up as well, but makes more power.
I'll need to have a look, and see what I can come up with, but are you looking for more power, or quicker spool up ?

mark doesnt do exchanges mate
your best bet is to sell a the vf on here (they go for circa 300)
321H will make 400 (with supporting mods)
a 321T will make 440 - 450 (mines made 440 on a standard 2.0 sti)

Why are there no review/tests/dyno's visible after all this time ?
I mean the tests were supposed to be done in January this year and now we are almost 6 months down the road and i have not been able to find any info on how these Billet MD series are doing.

There will be some initial results coming though shortly, but I'm not going to start selling a billet version, just for billet versions sake.
We've already tested several versions to get some bench marks, but because we can get the wheel size/design modified, we're trying some new options. This unfortunately takes time.
What size turbo are you waiting for ?
Mark.
