..........NEW LATERAL MD321 SERIES BILLET TURBO'S..........
Well the new MD321 series billet range is just undergoing final testing, and will be released early in the new year.
The new range will carry a TWO YEAR warranty against component failure, and will still include the Zircotec ceramic coated exhaust housing, and fitting kit.
Existing MD321 turbo customers will be able to upgrade to the billet wheel for £295.00 + vat, and these will carry a new ONE YEAR warranty. (All turbo's will need to be inspected for suitability first.)
We will also be launching a new billet range of rotated turbo's, which may, or may not include the new billet Garrett GTX turbo's, depending on how they perform.
But here are a few pictures, for those who are interested in seeing them
Garrett's new billet GTX30, & 35
Oh, and something else that should be fun
And we'll do some testing on these inserts too, supposed to reduce intake turbulence...........
Be interesting to see how they all compare.....

I'll post pricing in the new year, when the final spec's have been chosen, but the aim is for them to be similar to the current turbo's.
There will of course be some additions to the range, if I can get the results I want

Omar, Catch up in the new year.
There will be some new power options for existing turbo's, but I won't know how they will be designated until we finish testing.
By this, the MD321T is a 450bhp turbo, I would like the T billet to remain a 450bhp turbo, but with even better spool than it has now, the same for the V, still 500bhp, but better spool.
There will then be some additions to the range, offering more power.
The cost of the upgrade will remain the same for people wanting similar power, but better spool, or increased power.
I'll post details, when we finish testing.
Mark.

480bhp is a good result, but I would expect a new version to see around 500bhp.
I'll let you know as soon as we've finished testing.

I got 464 bhp on plain V Power on a 58mm inlet 321t on my Hawkeye STI. I am really hoping that a combination of the billet wheel and the new Ecutek Racerom which will allow me to run mafless and have a seperate meth map will get me in the region of 500 bhp.

Sorry, been a tad busy.
The aim will be for the new H, T, and V to make similar power to what they do now, namely 400, 450, 500bhp on V Power, BUT with even better spool up, and response !!!
It's really easy to get a turbo to make more power, but it's always at the cost of spool up. The MD321's are not about making more power than someone elses turbos, but about having the best spool up, & response for their out put.
As an example, in "back to back" independent testing the MD321V spooled up only 200rpm later than the MD321T !
Now the T is no slouch for a 450bhp turbo, but the V is just a stunning 500bhp turbo !
We now have the job of trying to make these even better................
There will then be some additions to the range, which will be announced soon.

I think the word 'stunning' describes the 'V' perfectly particularly for a standard fit turbo. I'll post the dyno results we got and other info in a separate thread so as not to clutter this one. I've booked my place at RAF Marham on the 20/3 to give it test .
Cheers

FAO Lateral Performance - What was the original intention behind the ceramic coating, heat retention for spooling purposes or reduce underbonnet temps. - or both?
I have a 321H as part of the work done by Zen a couple of years ago and although the standard heat shield fits ok, I have been considering a turbo blanket. Would there be any actual benefit in using one as a replacement for the shield? If so, any recommendations?

John,
Yes to help both spool up, and under bonnet temp control.
I think there's a company advertising turbo blankets on here somewhere, I think they're pretty cheap.

Andy,
The MD321H can already be mapped to spool up too quickly, and cause compressor surge, so it's going to be really hard to get it to spool up any quicker, and whilst we're going to be testing an idea I had, I won't know the results for a few weeks.
Keep an eye out here.

Steve,
I just had a word with Steven, and he feels that given the way you struggle with the standard TD04, you should get used to that first, then he'll get Paul to increase the boost to 1 bar. You're some way off needing a billet version !
