Not sure matey,SC36 is great turbo and with 20% meth can make nice numbers with nice spool.

About the Andy F 20G not sure, this turbo is 400bhp and with meth you should be around 420-440bhp with right setup, not sure about the spool, but this question will best answer for you Andy himself

MD321H Billet is second turbo which i would have look too

Really depends for what are you looking and mainly how much bhp you are looking and from this i would decide

Sorry guys, it's been really busy, and not been on SN for a while.

Owners are getting some stunning results, and I keep getting calls from the mappers asking what on earth we've done

There are two options to convert the original MD321's.

1) A direct swap for a compressor wheel of the same size: This will give the same, if not slightly improved spool up, better throttle response, and more power.

£315.00 + vat, including new gaskets, & the return carriage.

2) To upgrade to the new MD321T billet spec'. This requires a new billet wheel, compressor cover (On exchange), and some additional machining: Similar power to original, if not slightly more. Much improved spool up, and throttle response.

£475.00 + vat, including new gaskets, & the return carriage.

Hi Mark , if going for the later , more expensive upgrade option would it be possible to upgrade a 58mm T to the 76mm inlet ?

Dan,

Why go for 76mm ? We're getting over 500bhp from the 58mm intake, and it's less prone to compressor surge.

I'd recommend sticking with the 58mm.

Mark.
I always thought bigger was better

I will stick to 58mm then and when funds allow I will be in touch to discuss the upgrade.

Thanks

No, the T is spec'd for 450bhp on V Power, but some people are achieving just over 500bhp on 20% methanol.

The V consistently makes circa 500bhp on V Power.

The new billets are making the same power as the originals, but spooling up considerably quicker.

There will be a new version coming out, designed to go to the next level

Matthew,

I'll see if I can get hold any graphs. I've done several of the twin scrolls now, but most have gone abroad, and I think dynos are limited.

The best comment from a customer so far, is my turbos are "magical"....................

Well it made me smile

Currently running a TD0520G on a 2.1 stroker estimated at around 400bhp if I was to swap to a MD321T I guess I should be expecting somewhere in the region of 450bhp on v-power but will there be a noticeable difference in spool up time is will the MD321T be earlier or similar to the TD05?

It all depends on all the other bits, I doubt anyone has been in your exact situation to give a conclusive answer. For me personally, I switched from a VF48 to MD321T Billet and found it easily out spooled the VF48 & also gave me another 120+ bhp. BUT I also switched to a FMIC, Meth mix & Harvey Smith tapered up-pipe at the same time (all on a 2.0).
I think if you ensure all the supporting mods are there, on a 2.1 you will be very happy

What heads you are running?

How to say,we are running AVCS on 2.1 and must say spool is amazing, full boost(1.7bar) we are hitting in 4th somewhere before 4k RPM,with better up pipe(Harvey) we would hit full boost sooner, plus our clutch on mapping day has been all ready not in best shape, but mainly we are still running GT Spec Up pipe with which we are loosing spool up.

On yours i would say you will hit spool at around 3800-4000RPM,for better spool up i would suggest Harvey Up pipe.

Still just the original version 4 sti heads. You think Harvey's up pipe will be better than the Roger Clark one?
I'll maybe need to look into having the heads swapped at some point if it's going to make a big difference to things.

RCM do two different up pipes. Do you know if yours is the Venturi one?

You should be OK with your heads.

How to say about the Up pipe, what i know about the GT-Spec/RCM/Lateral performace headers they are using 2.5" up pipe which is large and if you are comparing to the Harvey he using smaller up pipe.

From peoples test and Harvey test you will gain around 300-500rpm,which is nice gain just from up pipe.

I can find two;
Venturi

Non-Venturi

Andy F mentions in this thread earlier on how much of a difference a good up pipe can make

Finally got the car to a RR for a graph, loving the MD321T Billet Twin Scroll, yes there is slightly more lag than the VF but it really isn`t much, still VERY drivable on the road and just doesn`t let off, very impressed. Figures are good enough for ma and at only 1.5bar.

Basic spec of car for the following graphs:
2.0 JDM
Hyperflow FMIC
ID1000`s
3"system and Hypeflow CAIK.
ECUTek Megarom map by Zen
20% meth mix - used for spool more than top end, and it`s cheaper than V power!
