I would tend to agree that BM's have less soul than Scoobs, however they are a nice place to be and handle well enough (in the dry).
Performance wise, I will have a diesel which will hopefully return over 40 to the gallon, which will be as fast as my 10 year old Scooby, which only gives mid 20's to the gallon.
Not to mention modern toys like satnav, Bluetooth and iPod connectivity.......

as said mines a 528 e39 (although moded with manifodl and mapped) and a classic running 340bhp.
scoob is way faster and better handeling, but the 5er is much mor comfortable

So what does 384hp mean exactly, it says flywheel hp on the graph?
Is that going to be less at the wheels, if so how much?
If a car is dyno'd on rollers then isn't that at the wheels?
I'm just interested because I'm looking at getting a new ecu that can be mapped for my car. It's had a few hardware mods and a forged rebuild so according to forum talk it should be good for a safe 450-500hp some are running lots more.
What does it all mean?

I'm hoping Evolve can do something similar to my 535d when it arrives.
According to your graph if they can do similar does that mean my car would go from the stock 300 BHP to 370 BHP?? That would be just 30 shy of the 550!!

I have a feeling your 335d isn't going to stay with you for very long.

Joking aside.
Coming from an M5 mainly.
I'm not sure the 335d, even if you chip it and despite it already being a fantastic car, is going to have that wide mouth grin factor you are used to.
You have posted a few times questioning the chipping of your 335 when you get it. I just get the feeling you're slightly concerned you may be a bit disappointed performance wise.
That's all, nothing sinister. I genuinely hope you love it and keep it at least till the new M5 comes out.

Don't worry I didn't think you meant anything weird, just wasn't sure what you meant exactly.
It's actually a 535d not 335d, just for accuracy btw
I'm not expecting it to be the same kind of car as the M but am content with that. I'm sure I've bored you with this already but I just don't use 80% of the M5s capability 90% of the time. I often have my kids in the back and there are loads of schools where I live etc etc.
I'm fed up of driving around this 500 BHP 2 tonne machine that guzzles 13mpg but I hardly get to cane.
As an analogy it's like paying for a drop dead gorgeous hooker and then just holding hands with her when what you really want to do is take her up the a8rse.
I don't think I'll miss the power too much, the 530d (245BHP) I had as a demo was quite nippy and my 535d will have another 55 BHP on top of that. It's just nice to know that if I fancy it I can pay somebody £500 and get another 50-75 BHP.
What I may miss more is the handling, the 535d MS will not be as 'focused' as the M5 in that respect, but on the other hand will be far more comfortable.
Cheers

That's two of your comments in two days that have made me properly
I knew it was a 535, I dont know why I typed 335.
Anyway, I understand your thought process, I've not been in an M5 but have been in my neices boyfriends 535d, which I think he said had the M sport pack, and I thought it was a terrific car. It's a nice colour too, black but has a sort of hint of blue in it.
Get some pics up when you get it.

You'll find the 535d much easier to live with, it'll demand much less from you and might even surprise you.
Triple the mpg means a third of the fuel stops too.
While I like M cars a lot, "proper" owners reports (not spoilt car journo write ups) often comment on how hard they have to be pushed to enjoy properly.
The powerful soot chuckers just make it easy.

The 535d I've ordered is carbon black, tbh I prefer a 'proper' metallic black but carbon black is the only one you can have in M Sport trim.
I almost ordered the non metallic jet black but the stealer told me a non metallic colour would reduce resale value by as much as £2k
