The M5 is supposed to be 1 of the quickest road cars available but it was struggling to catch the green RS and only started inching back ground at 150mph+. I wont post the same M5 vs GTR link but the videos prove something, and thats that this engine is an absolute gem.
Put those two cars properly side by side with a proper rolling start and there would only be one winner.

I can't believe they've released this now based on the current (now very dated) generation, when the new generation A3 is due out next year?!
I had a 2004 A3 Sport a few years back and it was terrible. Dull interior, dull handling, developed loads of rattles, aircon failed, wheel bearings failed (was a common issue on the earlier ones), turbo issues - got rid and lost best part of £5k in a year on it and that was buying a couple of years old.
Would have the M 1-series over the RS3 any day, even though thats an old model too - but at least its rated as a good drive. Also turbo with scope for tuning.

I just did one without going daft on the options and it came to just over £45k! I thought the option of £545 for a 5 year warranty and 90,000 miles was quite reasonable. Some of the costs are horrendous. £2k for sports seats for example.
Could be a good second hand buy in a few years?

Well just an update, decided £40+k was a bit too much so went for an S3 to start with. Will see what happens with the used prices of the RS3 in 12 -18 months time I think.

True, 300bhp with Revo and no other mods. That said the 2.5 in the RS will easily re-map to 410bhp with Revo too.... RS has the 7 speed gearbox too which can run much more torque. The S3 has the older 6 speed unit which is not as strong. So I have been told.

Hope specced the bucket seats - really does make all the differance.

My car is an S-tronic, so I think they cut them back a bit to 300ish. Will soon find out
Did not go for the buckets, car is an ex demo so its just got standard seats in leather. They seemed ok anyway for me.
