Surely these cars are made for driving(clean or dirty)?
Surely the more you drive it the better you will be able to drive it and appreciate it?
Surely the object is not to scare the **** out of yourself but to safely enjoy the power and handling ?
(Drive it every day despite the name... )

Thumbs down

Some of us don't get bonuses either

Some of us just sold our shares on a whim, and aren't saving for anything respectable (like a nice house) with them

Question

Just sold my E34 M5 two weeks ago for a Caterham Super 7 Superlight R. Now using the missus old Nissan Sunny!!

Thing is, I was heading through some traffic lights which had *just* turned to amber, the car in front touched her brake, then let off and put her foot down, THEN saw a pedestrian walking near the other side of the road and slammed her brakes on. Having thought she was going to go for it after she had let off, then accelerated, I went for it aswell - so I hit her rear and cracked her bumper!!

I just know I wouldn't have hit her in the M5 or the Caterham, the brakes in the sunny are truly pathetic, and the tyres are made of concrete, so they simply locked up, even after I managed to let the brake off and plant it again... saw the whole thing from way back, and couldn't avoid it. pants. My fault totally, but still pants. I ended up paying cash for her new bumper anyway.....

Paul.

Cool

Ford Escort 1.3L with 150,000 miles on the clock. I just use it to go to work and back, 120 per day (sometimes on the back of an AA breakdown truck). The brakes on it were pants so I now have XR3i discs and calipers. I feel like such a boy racrer now I've told you that.

The Smart car is a good choice for a "minger" car. £7k new, plush interior, can fit in silly gaps and park almost anywhere. No one is going to key it or probably even try to steal it. Nice mpg, and they are bringing out a RHD soon. You can chip it for £250 and get about 20% more bhp (still only about 80 though!). Also they are RWD and go surprisingly fast on twisty roads (bit like the old Mini) so you can surprise a few rep drivers overtaking them in your funny looking shopping trolley No I don't own one, but I know a man who does!
