1) You have failed to respond to any points made to you.
2) You have pointed out how my background disqualifies me from answering questions, how it makes me prejudiced, how my answers are irrelevant, etc etc, but refuse to reveal your own background, "as being no one elses business"

Afternoon, Asif. Tony and I, amongst others, were discussing the origins of the Universe (as you do) on the Stephen Hawking thread. We stood on opposite sides of the room on several points and in order for me to drive home my polemic and knock down his defence I kept on pressing him on the most critical question and the one central to the 22 pages of debate (and 11 pages of bollox.) Did God create the universe? DID GOD CREATE THE UNIVERSE? DID GOD CREATE THE UNIVERSE? His final response was, "I have issues with the word 'the'". Infuriating. Tony wouldn't answer the question for fear of it discrediting the rest of his argument; I get that and actually ended up finding his response amusing.

With regards this squabble, and correcting Tony, well I don't want to jump in on another man's fight and I'm confident you wouldn't want me to. Whilst we share the same outlook regarding the threat of Islamism, I'd have no issue challenging the chap on a point of order. I trust Tony would reciprocate.

You and I have always got along well, Asif. A few years back the favourite past-time was bashing 'illegal' immigrants and asylum seekers and you and I stood firm together in the face of overwhelming opposition and from a contentious viewpoint. Where I agree with you, which in the past has been very often, I'm happy show it.

Yes I have always got on well with you and most people to be honest. I don't hide behind some sort of internet persona. People know who I am and where I come from, whether they agree with me or not.

Hell I even got on with Gatty, who was a rabid racist. Islamophobes I have never got on with, for the simple reason is that they see fit to lump me in with other people, usually nutcases or murderers, just because it suits their ignorant cluelessness. This gets on my goat.

We are agreed, Tony is an infuriating, annoying, person, who cannot argue or debate to save his life.

His way of arguing is just to pick one sentence, one quotation, put it out of context and attack you to death with it: the more he knows he is wrong, the more he does this.

In your Stephen Hawking thread, did he insult you, call you an idiot, dumb, racist, etc etc, while ignoring your points? I suspect he didn't insult you. If he didn't I may go so far as to say that your comparison is not valid.

My point of you 'correcting' Tony, was not one of stepping in to my defence, although of course you are free to say what you wish, it was to point out to him that, as his friend, if he were to argue in a more reasonable manner, perhaps by conceding a point or two, whilst getting others to do the same, he might be able to make his point, agree to disagree, and everyone move on happy.

Instead, he uses very inciteful language, then gets uppity when people respond in the same way. I never would have called him names if he had not started it (sounds playgroundish, but hey ho, I am just going with the flow on that score!).

Someone makes a point to you, you respond and raise points of your own, he then chooses to conveniently ignore your points and change the subject. This is admitting defeat, but is also rude, and can NEVER be called 'intellectual debate'. On that score, Tony a complete joke. I can therefore see why anyone would find him 'amusing'.

As I have said several times recently Scoobynet was better when all colours and creeds were genuinely welcome.

Tony seems to be allowed to post his trolling pseudo intellectual rants against Islam with impunity and to add insult to injury they have a nasty undercurrent to them that makes certain people like yourself feel uneasy and I can see why.
