I can understand the idea of apostasy being a matter of faith - and not being amenable to reason - but I would like to hear that, although it begs the question why it should apply to other people?
I made a perfectly polite and reasoned obsevation in my initial post tonight and you decided it was an attack. That says more about your mentality on here than anything else quite frankly.

You attacked me with an ad hom fallacy instead of responding to the actual question.

What does that say about your mentality?

Tony, what in Allahs name is an 'ad hom fallacy'? In fact dont bother, Im off to bed to try and remove the thought from my head.

Edited to add: Dont bother, if in fact you are talking about an ad hominem fallacy. In which case, you open yourself up to attack and your statements are generally pointless anyway. So the attack has no bearing on whether your points are shot down, its probably because you talk a load of ****.

No I didn't, but believe whatever you want, I coudn't care less to be frank.

It was a polite reply that was posted to illustrate why you may not have Muslims beating a path to your door to debate with you. Take it or leave it, I am not actually going to lose sleep over it one way or the other.

f1, I believe the 'ad hom fallacy' is the preserve of the perpetual victim. Poor Tony. If it isnt you, its the Muslims.

So, Mohammed appears to be the most popular name for newborn boys in the UK.

Apparently (not ignoring you F1).

Being realistic (and I could well be missing the point), if you have a section of society calling alot of their boys the same name (only so much if you allow for different spellings), the results are going to be a little skewed to say the least.

Maybe some religious people like to stay more traditional as Moley said earlier on, hence leading to what seems like a huge increase of a certain name, but keep it in context. If you put Mohammed (and various spellings) against all other names full stop, the number would be quite small. It's not like 'they're' taking over ffs.

And just to balance the Daily Mail, I love how different a stroy can be elsewhere (not that I read either)

It seems that nobody will debate the opposite position. I never, ever, see or hear a credible, lucid, well reasoned argument for the benefits or support of enslaved minds. I only ever read attacks upon the critical individual, never the actual criticism. Why? Is it cowardice, ambivalance, apathy, ignorance, antipathy, inarticulateness? What? These threads are being viewed by thousands: Muslims, Christians, Athiests and Agnostics and not one person can justify the control exerted by Islam over its people and why it's acceptable. Why is this? Somebody please tell me.

Perhaps f1_fan's right. Maybe it's too big for little old NSR and the debate should be taken elsewhere.

You will have to ask those who follow that religion just why it appears to have such power. It is not a matter of justification, it is all down to those who allow it. They are entitled to accept their own beliefs and you for one will never influence them differently, even with religious persecution.

Your arguments would be stronger if you stuck to normal English, the outlandish expressions don't impress.

Muslims do not have religious freedom and as such they are not at liberty to accept, they have their 'beliefs' enforced. They're born a Muslim and the consequences of leaving are severe. They have no choice, Les.

Yes JT , I see what you are saying, happens with other religions as well of course,if not to the same degree. Having been bred to those beliefs, and the troubles if you try to leave, It does a great deal towards maintaining its own strengths.

I can't see anyone being able to break that power apart from the people themselves as I said above.
