Sales are seperate from Aftersales, hense the bad trade off.
Think i might do a search, need a laugh at my bosses expance!! hehehe.
The thing i can vouch for, is that there are alot of Techs there, that i would trust their judgement on all types of M5 diagnosis.

Hey Rooky, thanks that really is a kind offer mate! Let me fill you in where we are up to.
I ended up paying the non BMW garage about £500 as a contribution towards the solenoid valves and the fan. We've both lost out and I've learnt an expensive lesson.
The problem of course is still there. The garage owner did say that he'd spoken to a mate of his who is a tech at BMW Stephen James and he has agreed to have a look at it free of charge. This won't be hours of investigating for free of course but is happy to spend a little bit of time to see if he can suggest what the issue might be.
This will be my next port of call, hopefully will take it up to him next week. I'll drop you a pm after that if that's ok if I'm no further to see what the next best step is.
Tbh with you I'm sort of wanting to change the car soon anyway, and rather than spending more money on it I might just chop it into a dealer and get a new car.
I was down my local BMW dealer today to test drive a few and have started a new thread on it. I look forward to your comments on that thread as well.
Thanks again for your very kind offer and depending on how things go next week I might take you up on the offer of some help of some kind
