Bit of a ressurection, has anyone found any good metal sump guards? I've fitted an oil cooler but oil temps are still a bit high when on track so thinking of removing the undertray but want something there, still not keen on running without some sort of protection under the engine

I've got a spare bugeye under tray if any one wants it. Don't really like throwing stuff so it's free.

My undertray is held on loosely with cable ties since previous owner snapped all the bolts off. Is it worth getting them drilled out to re-attach it properly or just get a sump guard fitted and replace only those bolts?

Intresting read, I always tell my teztechnitions mechanic to put it back on all the time as I think it helps my aerodynamics.

Ah sorry misunderstood, in that case you need to do whatever you can to secure it as best as possible, thats not using cable ties in my book.

I agree mate

I also helped my oil temps by removing the inspection flaps around the sump, now my oil sits between 80 - 90 for normal driving and between around 95 - 105 on the track.

Hopfully the garage will drill out and re-secure when they do some work on it next week. Unfortunitly the car has several little quirks the previous owner neglected to tell me about
