You can only "prove" things that do exist.

Nobody can prove things that don't exist.

If you want to believe in things that cant be proved - you are a retard.

Hope this is clear enough for you

Same old same old attempt at a reply!

If you want to believe the scientists' theories about the start of the Universe-what does that make you?

I am too polite to say it of course!

Search my posts where I say I believe any theories by anyone - You wont find any.

The big bang is probably as much bollox as God.

Thing is scientists put up theories to enable you to decide if you want to believe them or not.

Religions put up "facts" based on "Stories" and TELL you to have faith and trust the leadership that they are true

Fair enough, Les. I guess some people are left so indignant in response to reading what they perceive to be delusional anecdotes that they feel compelled to take the p1ss. I get that, actually. Surely if SRSport is going to argue that his faith is the literal Pirsca Theologica he needs to employ eloquent and compelling argument. Unfortunately he presents as an enemy of reason against a back drop of demonstrable and gargantuan ignorance.

Given that you've consistently (and understandably) taken a deist's stance, I remain intrigued as to whether you'll be reading The Grand Design. You've said time and again that "they don't Know how it all started though, do they?", well, this book presents the cutting edge of scientific thought regarding primum movens. I'm sure you'll be desperate to read the offering if only to build a credible counter argument and to avoid having to join SRSport's 'team ignorant'.

Thats just what Ive noticed and my thoughts anyway.
Hmmm.... a God that is vengeful and vindictive even to this day!....how nice! So much for this so called loving and forgiving God.

We'll never know if the theory of the big bang is anymore likely than it all being created by a big pink blancmange.

Although I will admit it's a litlle less bollox than the god stuff

Well, which is it? More likely than God or no more likely than pink blancmange?

Why am I being asked to provide eloquent and compelling arguments, by which I take it you mean proof, when all I get back in return are insults and suggestions that I am mentally ill? The problem is I am not mentally ill and as this is by far the most preferred method of undermining what I say where does it leave what I am saying?

You tell me where your miracle happened and pretty much anyone on this board should be able to tell you where mine did

You still haven't answered how you discovered your God - I don't need "proof" - just how you discovered God - In your own words please.

Promise not to call you names - provided you give me a straight answer

I have a theory on that - but I have no proof - you'll have to decide for yourself

I wont be arguing my faith is the Prisca Theologica by using any more elequent or compelling arguments than what I am saying already as I am just stating my experiences and limited knowledge of the Bible. Make up your own minds, I doubt very much I would be able to change peoples minds to be honest if they dont believe in God, more often than not it is God that will do that in peoples hearts or revlation. He did that to me years ago (in answer to someone elses "challenge") through very specific passages in the Bible that were direct answers to questions I had and situations I were going through in my life at that time.

Cool

Can you point us to the exact incident? The Tsunami hit a pretty wide range of areas.

Otherwise, this is just hearsay, nothing more.

Geezer

edited to add:

Were you responding to the picture or the original question about this incident where Christians were reportedly saved?

This was along time ago so no. To be honest I see many things happen that are more fantastic than this. Its not such an isolated incident that I get so excited that I write all the details down, to refer back to later. Its more along the lines of well yes, of course and move on giving thanks to God.

I wouldn't expect any other comment.

response to edit: the original question. I would still like to know where that picture was taken though. I assume the poster knows.

If I was to see things like that I'm sure I would take a bit more note! It wold be intersesting to hear the source of these stories.

They don't appear to be in main-stream media, so I would be willing to bet they are in something that already believes whoeheartedly in it?

For all the stories of people being saved by prayer, you don't hear all the people who weren't. It's called the 'God Ratio'. Unfortunately, millions more people die who prayed to be saved than those few who survived. That is just statistical probability I'm afraid.

How do you know what they prayed, if they even did pray? If they did pray to be saved they may well have been, but not as you think.

No there werent, most were hidden but people knew of some churches that got swept away. I remember the Muslims shouting for joy as theirs was the true God as their building stood.

The Christians as you rightly said didnt see eye to eye. They were driven up the hills to celebrate Christmas away from everyone else.

This was what I was talking about earlier, it just happened to be chance that you would then post up a picture of the standing Mosque in the exact place to where I was referring.

The herd is awash with enemies of reason and the profane; they see shadows in the cave.
