As a matter of interest - does anyone here have any clear memories of when they were 5 years old? I know I don't. But then again nothing like this happened to me (as far as I as I can remember)

What I am suggesting is that time heals - The human mind is a complex thing and works in ways that I don't fully understand. Damage of this kind should repair over time- hopefully the poor kid will recover fully physically and mentally.

I can't say the same for the scumbag.

I think the memory of being raped would stick in your memory, even as a 5 y/o. I just hope the poor child gets the counseling she needs. The other side of this of course is the physical damage, there was blood from what the paper reports so likely she has internal injuries that she may never fully recover from and maybe not be able to have children herself.

Even if she does manage to forget a little bit, the physical damage that he has caused, will probably be a permenant reminder.
She will most likely have trust issues, and when she is older it will possible lead to a whole load of other problems regarding relationships and intimacy.

This sort of thing is never forgotten.

Probably a bit unfair but it is usually males, however it isnt unknown for females to be abusers, however not posessing certain anatomy would render an attack less destructive (asuming no other items involved) and I would imagine that however inapropriate the pain is what this poor kid will remember.

I dont know why these blokes cant just crack one off or top themselves.

I worked with a bloke (at the Police of all places) who was jailed for 4 years for a crime against a 12 year old boy some years previously, he has turned up on Facebook as a friend of another strange (but nice) guy I used to work withs friend, surprised he is allowed internet access, dont know what he did but anything of a sexual nature with a 12 year old is wrong, he is very religous and its funny to see him pontificating, cos I just think, thats as maybe but you arent entitled to an opinion seeing as you bummed a 12 year old boy you big gay paedo. Things did add up when we found out, like him being a weird beard, a bit over familar with the young male trainees (ruffling hair, who does that ?)

We moved house when I was 5...and I still clearly remember having to cross a wooden plank to enter the front door (underpinning was done in the 1st year) That was in 1976

If I can remember a walk across a strip of wood..I'd surely be haunted by a scabby chav jumping into bed with me!

Its is surprising what you can remember from when you were very young. I can remember when my aunties were rolling me across the floor when I was wrapped up in baby blankets, I must have only been a few months old. I can also remember sticking my fingers into a wall socket when I was a toddler. Luckily it was not live!
