According to various forums the reasons vary from push notifications and new location services defaulting to on and the phone constantly trying to set up Internet tethering. 11 page thread on the apple discussion forum going on at the moment about it

Definitely using more battery. It was on 100% when I left the house this morning. It's now down to 50% and it's only 2:30pm. I wouldn't mind, but I've not made any calls and only sent two texts in that time!!!
Very unimpressed

Have you turned all location services off as your camera now uses one etc. Another tip from the folks on the apple forum seems to be to let your battery run right down, so it will accept a full recharge. Then full restart.
Oh....and check the push notifications as ios4 seems to default to on.

My battery was being drained by my Exchange connection to Google Mail. Changed back to IMAP and it's better than it was. Google have I think fixed their servers, I'll try again later.

OS4 doesn't play well with my Alpine iPod stereo, it works but it's super slow selecting albums where it was lightning fast. Fingers crossed Alpine or Apple can sort it out or it's ebay time.

Went to bed around 1am, and my 3gs had about 88% battery left. Woke up at 8am, andf it was down to 50%. So it's used 38% of the battery just by being turned off for 6 hours. Location services and push mail etc are all turned off.
Think I'm going to be looking for a new (non-apple) phone soon....

The only ones I have seen up to now are on here!
Don't know if I like the background on all the time... may get used to it.

It's not that I'm not using it, because it says just over 4 hrs use.
Run it right down and do a full charge if you ant already.
