I've not tried that, but the little book says there are 4 modes, with the grand prix having a qualiy session:
Pole Position: pole position replicates the intensity of qualification. Each pole position race lasts 20 minutes and the winner is the person who posts the fastest time.
Sprint: 3 laps, dry weather, randomly assigned grid and cars.
Endurance: 20% race distance, variable weather, random start grid, compulsory pit-stop.
Online Grand Prix: 7 lap race, dynamic weather, grid determined buy 15 minute qualifying session and one pit stop.

It's ok this, i like it, but it is a bit arcadey (grid engine obviously in use) attention to detail in the pits is good although lacking some car setup options and there are some commentary bugs. Gfx and the sound especially are excellent, although incar view is not as nice as it could be. Playing with a wheel makes all the difference though I'm finding it too easy though, in expert mode with no aids i've won all the races i've done in a Williams :s It is addictive though so i will keep playing.

Driving in manual is friggin hard so have ditched to auto and traction control. You really have to brake early otherwise its so hard to turn into the corner.
Cant say the graphics blow me away but the engine sound is good and Im liking the difficulty as more of a challenge.

You really have to be careful with the red & white kerbs as just glance them and boom your spinning even if you just ride it straight on. Friggin annoying lol.

How is the Physics?
The videos i was watching looks a bit weird.
I checked twitter earlier on and everybody seams pretty happy with it so i was trying to decide between X360 or the PC version.
Found this screenshot comparison

The PS2 (or is it 3? hard to tell) looks rough!

Glad people are liking the engine sounds - our job is done then On to DiRT 3 - today - Bowler Nemesis recording........... done!
BTW... just a thought, but how can anyone who'se not driven and F1 car comment on whether the handling is right or not? I mean, how would you know? An F1 car may handle like a car in Sega Rally for all we know...
Just for a laugh, and yes I have lost a bit of the beer belly, but this photo was found when recording at Jerez for the game
Fat b*stard

I'm going to need to question you on winning all your races so far aswell on expert, I find that hard to believe. Your telling me from your FIRST race you've won them all with no driver aids or flashbacks ? Especially considering traction control will be off
