Hi guys hows it going.

Need some serious advice. As some of you know I recently bought my car, haven't driven it much. Really feeling the pinch this month, mainly down to my own moeny management. Had the money for the car go out along with insurance, tax, cam belt etc.

Any ways my question is if I put in regular Shell unleaded will my car be ok even though it has been mapped. I always fill up at Shell never at the supermarkets.

Thanks guys look forward to seeing all of you this weekend.

You are always best to use the fuel your car has been mapped to so I personally wouldn't put normal shell in if it's been mapped to v power. Jus try and drive sensible, I kno it's hard when your in a scoob lol

This could cause long term engine problems (more expense) stick with what it is mapped to

I wouldn't recommend using anything other than what your car was mapped on, or at least something with the same octane rating.

The only alternative I would say is viable (if mapped to vpower) is tescos momentum but I would drive it easy on that as i believe it to be a inferior fuel.

Mine was mapped to v-power and runs like poo on tescos, very lumpy.

A few pence per litre is a lot cheaper than an engine rebuild!

You could say that mapping and fuel go "hand in hand". There is good fuel and there is bad fuel. There is good mapping and then there is bad mapping.

Jennychem are very good birch and the hand pump is also a good buy and advised.
Best bet is to fill a jerry can and ask you mapper what percentage will work best for you and your car.

http://www.jennychem.com/methanol/80...-methanol.html is that the correct one from jerry chem?

I'm doing a 20% mix which should give some nice figures after a talk with the guys at PP along with a few other mods to make it safe. and expecting anywhere between + 30-50 extra on meth Ad should be a very quick car. make sure you come down if you get chance Ad, going in start of next week now

If you're running 20%... please please please make sure you get the mixture right, there is a thread over in General Technical at the moment, and some people's math's are so wrong it's untrue.

MAKE SURE you measure it, there's no point thinking a 5 litre jerry can takes 5 litres, and a 10 litre one 10 litres, that is just their recommended carrying amount. They take much more generally speaking. And if you go on the presumption of they carry their quoted amount, when you use a bigger can you're going to screw up your mixture.

Jennychem is where I get mine

That's the one mate,it is cheaper to buy a 207 litre but obviously harder to store then but ideal if you have room.

I looked at that which is why i posted in here about it! What is correct on it and how do you measure it? Like do you pump it out into a measured container then into a jerry can for store if your traveling? Was hoping you'd post

It is advised to get a good form of knock monitoring tbho as the first sign that the mix is out will be knock/det going up,Phormula KS3 knocklinks are very good.

That worth it even though the simtek is monitoring knock using the engine management light?

The standard sensor will only bring up the warning once the unsafe level has been reached[whatever your mapper sets the warning to] where as with the KS3 you would see the constant levels start to climb before a potential problem occurs,I have the wrong amount slightly in mine now and the levels are up a bit so I'm keeping off the loud pedal........................slightly lol.
Also I think the frequency can be altered on the KS3 which is where the standard sensor falls down as its set for a standard engine not modded.

Seriously measure it out. As sad as it sounds I do it litre by litre. It really takes no time at all.

I own 2 x 5l jerry cans, and 2 x 10l jerry cans.

When I first starting using meth, I ran the car literally until it stalled so I knew the tank was very nearly empty. You would be very surprised how far the car will drive on the fuel light.

I had preprepared a 5l jerry can with 1 (and a bit - as there is still a teeny teeny bit still in the tank) litres of meth, and 4 litres of V-Power. Also a 10 litre jerry can of meth. So when the car stalled, I poored the 5 litre jerry can in the tank, drove to the nearest Shell station, poured in the 10 litre tank, and put in 40 litres of V-Power on top of it.

And from now on, depending on how many miles I'm intending to, depends which jerry can I fill up with meth and take with me. I always have a 5 litre can filled with 5 litres with me.

Maths is simple. When you say you want to run 20% meth, imagine it as 20% of the whole amount of fuel in the tank.

1 litre of meth + 4 litres of V-Power = 5 litres total fuel
2 litres of meth + 8 litres of V-Power = 10 litres total fuel
3 litres of meth + 12 litres of V-Power = 15 litres total fuel
4 litres of meth + 16 litres of V-Power = 20 litres total fuel
5 litres of meth + 20 litres of V-Power = 25 litres total fuel
10 litres of meth + 40 litres of V-Power = 50 litres total fuel (maximum recommended to put it, really only just manages to fit in when the fuel light is on)

You can fit 6 litres in a 5 litre if that's more convenient, smaller can and all, so 6l meth + 24l V-Power = a nice 30 litres total in the tank.

Hope that helps
