Not sure on the size of the hole, how long before the IMF tell Brown to go away, or have they already?

I wouldn't put it past this lot to line their pockets until they bulge, then do something and call another election and lose it. I don't trust any politician, but Labour? jeez I'd check today was monday if a Lying Labour politician told me so.

I'm sure if the two work together they can make such a hole far greater, don't worry, if anyone can these can. Doesn't it make you proud.

The Tories are still not going to get in with a working majority

Which is staggering, isn't it?

Paul, you have told me what the Tories are against, but not what they are for.

Not so much staggering as appauling really. A hung parliment is no good for anyone, The LiB Dims just do not have a clue and having not been in power in living memory are just not really a good partner option for either party.

We need to change how we vote if this is the outcome.

You just can't bet on an election. NL can rely on the votes of all those who rely on their handouts to avoid working and those in very well jobs employed by them-wastefully of course. They don't actually realise that should Flash and that prat ***** be running the country we shall soon be so bankrupt that no one will lend them any more money to squander away.

Whoever is elected, we can soon expect the borrowing bubble to burst and we shall be in for a hard time, and even into that awful state called "austerity" They probably won't be able to pay the interest on the National Debt.

Why do you make that statement Pete? Is it because you realise what a terrible government this has been?

I make the statement, Les, out of an absolute desperation for a party to emerge who were electable .................... none of them are!!

And the Tories should be so far in front .... but they are not, which means that people do not trust them (rightly in my opinion).

I think one thing Gordon did deliver on was no more boom and bust. Just bust bust and more bust.

Yeah - and his minions are out wrangling for £5k a day as 'cabs for hire'. Honestly - did you SEE how embarrassing that Dispatches doc was last night showing the greedy, grabby 'socialist' twonks? Cringe.

I'm not a Labour voter. I voted Tory in 1992 because i thought John Major stood for something. However many times i ask, no-one can tell me what Camerons vision is for the future.

I never have and am unlikely to vote Tory, but, honestly, its not humanly possible to screw things up more or lose much more credibility than wot this mediocre bunch have? So, I say give the lad a go - he is far more on the button than this incompetent, fudging clueless lot. D

I don't disagree Pete, but why are you of all people saying that the Conservatives should be so far ahead?

Heard a bit of Radio 4 lunchtime and Cameron is currently absolutely MURDERING them with real stats and sharp wit: "let me put that sum in a way you'd understand - that's about 14 Geoff Hoon consultancy days". He even called Darling 'Voldermort'!

But the MAJOR problem that the conservatives have is that there are LOTS of the following voters out there:

Type 1: "I'll vote Labour again as I don't think the Conservatives have enough experience to get us out of the mess we are in."
Type 2: "I'll vote Labour again as I don't trust the Conservatives, I mean look at what Thatcher did."
Type 3: "I'll NOT vot Labour, but neither will I vote Coservative for either of the reasons given above."
Type 4: "I'm not voting at all, given that they are all the same."

Now, of all the people I know, EVERYONE falls into one of the above groups. To me, that says that Labour could easily squeak this one, and THAT scares me

Aside from SN ... I have not met anyone keen on voting Tory.

They don't want to vote Labour, either ... but consider Labour a known quantity and a proven one in the most desperate of times.

Like it, or not, Labour have dug us out of the economic mess made in the US ..... worse, is that the Tories said they would do NOTHING!! .... NOTHING!!!! and everyone remembers that.
