That's if he can get through the picket line........
Just as the commentators have predicted I would guess. A few things to hurt the successful middle class that won't vote labour anyway and a few sweeties for lower middle class. They say he will freeze petrol price which rather surprises me but of course he won't put VAT up to 20% which is the obvious way of getting some much needed cash. And clobber the banks a bit. And very little for pensioners where I think he is missing a trick as they are a huge group of undecided voters.
Possibly put up day rate for bent ex-ministers from £5,000 to £10,000 per diem

Will be interested to see how carefully they tread before the election. Unpopular but small rises in the right places to keep the majority on their side.
Either way, im sure its not gonna be pretty. But will be interested to see if the sums add up. And if we can really get enough money together to pay off half the debt in 2 years as they seem so sure about.

Whatever it is, it isn't going to be the kind of budget that's going to help pull the country out of this mess. That would involve a bit more pain first and voters wouldn't like that! So expect to see some totally insignificant fractional rises, with possibly some more tax on the superich. This will obviously lead to a substantial drop in tax revenue when they all leave the country, but it'll no doubt please quite a few ignorant retards.

My guess is Labour will try to fool enough of the electorate into thinking that we can get out of this fiscal mess solely by taxing "the rich". Completely intellectually dishonest, but Brown is desperate to cling to power.

Anyone's guess which way they will jump. Their best way is a nothing budget which wont affect anyone too heavily and then hold another real one after the election if they win power again! God forbid!!!

"Stamp duty on residential property sales over £1m to increase to 5%" - that'll kill the value of Rich Peoples homes
"Inheritance tax threshold frozen for four years" - bring out your dead!

Well it looks like they're raising allowances and throwing money at us again(apart from in the case of the wealthy). Woohoo! Financial crisis averted then! Oh wait... what about the debt? How's that going to be paid off?

I believe he will deliver a tax hike in everything the working man enjoys right up the working mans hoop!
Then he will deliver a tax hike in everything the working man dosent enjoy up the working mans hoops yet again
Then he will deliver a tax hike in everything the working man needs to live right up his hoop yet still
I could go on and on, basically if your the average working man your fuc.ked

This budget is largely irrelevant as Labour dare not introduce the tax-hikes they need to pull the country out of debt. Whichever party gets in after the election will have no choice but to implement higher taxes & public service cuts so it will make absolutely no difference which way you vote. Not that it does anyway : if voting really changed things, it would be made illegal.

They really are a shower of $hit
Did anyone see his little budget speech tonight. His comments about making sure people pay up what they should in tax. Why not concentrate of getting back the excess money given away in benefits and sort out all the swindling MPs.

I work for a bank, and having been enjoying 50%+ tax over the last year have decided to fk this country off, and am moving to another country to pay just over 10%... I have several friends in the same boat that have already moved to dubai (0%), one in hong kong and singapore at just around 17% tax each. When are the idiots in charge going to realise that all these little digs they keep chucking out are having a detrimental effect !
If they wanted to do something constructive, why don't they do a monthly drugs test on people that are on benefits - any presence of any illegal substances and that person doesn't get paid their benefits.. After all, if you're not working yet you can afford drugs, somethings amiss - either you're getting too much cash for doing FK all, or you're getting an under the counter income...
Anyway rant over..

Going by all the budgets that they have produced over the years, we will probably have to wait a few days until the small print surfaces and we find out what he has really done.
