From: in the woods...........555 Wagon Sqn
nice quick but sensible stuff Clive...love the way the car climbs the camber onto the crest of the road as it hits full boost. Looks like fun, I miss my wagon a bit now even with a 182 to play in
Went out for a blast last night driving in pitch black with headlights only through the lanes but no joy.

P2 now back down my end of the country at Curly Mouldings Ltd have the following fabrication work:-
Boot redesigned and will become 2 pieces (top section & back section)
Rear Wing (one off) and braced to chassis.
Rear floor pan and bracing (c/f)
Bespoke alley fuel cell (40 Ltr) & tray fitted
Rear fire walls c/f)
Rear bumper works (centre section) (not diffuser as not having flat bottom yet)
Bespoke arches (bolt on type but different
c/f
Front bumper / spliter (bespoke) c/f
When that is finished it's back up to Rockingham for final paint job.
The build then begins

50% of doing something like this is thinking
I record every penny spent on P2 and so far 2.2K has been spent just on logistics. In the same breath 11.2K has been saved so far on deals done to have signage on the completed P2.
Yep, some great builds coming on at the moment. 2014 should see some good action.

shame to not follow the 25k idea thru, would've been very interesting to see the results
but you appear to be doing a very good job of creating what will be an epic track spec impreza. keep up the good work. eagerly await more inspiring updates!

Had a visit to Curly Mouldings.
They currently have a Ferrari 458 Italia in the shop with damage all over the place.
Car has been in a crash resulting in spinning and smashing every panel.
£111,000 quotes to repair = write off.
CM have reproduced every panel in carbon for a sum of 8K. Being fitted this week and returned to a happy owner.
P2 should be finished 2 - 3 weeks.
Looking forward to seeing new rear section of P2.
The boot & hinges will be placed on the "for sale shelf (all to be advertised at a later date) at Daz's workshop.
New boot is 2 piece (rear & top sections) to fit around rear wing struts that are mounted to chassis for stability.
Fabricated cut out section to allow precise positioning of alley fuel cell funnel when filling up.
Front bumper & splitter is a one off, and one piece. Have moulding for spares on demand.
Arches are bolt on type but using no bolts. Carbon arches will be blended into bodywork and seamless. Bodywork preparation will allow easy fitment of damaged arches if required. 8 arches being made.
Rear bumper will also be one off and rear quarters will also have fabrication to allow easy replacement of rear bumper (if required at any time).
Bumper have been designed for very low drag regarding underside airflow.
Centre section of bumper will blend and fit to a newly fabricated lower boot section that will create a large ducted area to assist air flow.
This is NOT a rear diffuser but will resemble one in some ways.
Exhaust will be team ice centre section of then a fabricated branch, creating twin side entry exhausts to both sides exiting through alley plated bumper section behind both rear wheels.
Opted for behind rear wheels opposed to exiting under side seals as it will save fabrication work to floor.
I contacted Daz last night to advise him I have FINALLY come up with the finished appearance of P2.
I have spent 100+ hours on this and am now a happy chappy.
It will be a matte stealth black/very dark grey finish incorporating a fair bit of carbon. All decals and finishing touches will be put through a computer and finished using a carbon fiber vinyl.
TDC deep yellow will be evident but very little.
No-one (not even Daz) will see the completed P2 until the unveil.
Will post up photos of all aforementioned when I collect P2 soon.
