This Labour party has to go down as the govt that wasted more money on jobs for the boys and silly vote enticing ideas than any other is history.

If I had 300m available this lap top idea would be nowhere near the top.

Infrastructure (mind you we'd be lucky to get one road and that would have to be resurfaced within 6 months).

It's stuff like this I keep passing onto the wife when she gets homesick, mind you ther're no better down here in all honesty
So what do you miss about Norf Landan?

Q: What's the difference between Martin2005, a director of a management consultancy, and a shopping trolley?

A: The shopping trolley hasa mind of it's own.

Could not resist!

Snow? Well....I can leave it, unless it gets to 45c, with 90% humidity...then I move to the fridge.

Hummm...pints. I hear what you are saying. The closest I got to a "pint" was 580mls in an Irish pub in Wellington, NZ. If we had pints in Aus, then nothing would get done.

Sport. Pass...I wish that could be flicked off to pay TV. Get it off FTA FFS (But this is Aus, sport takes priority over EVERYTHING). Tennis, OK, I'll give the Williams sisters a break on that...*pherk*

Sausages? Are you still limited to "Cole" or "Wollworths"? There are, expensive, butchers about that can, and will (At a cost of course), deecnt sausages. You gotta look for 'em in your area.

Ah yeah, beaches. I was in Ulladulla, we had a summery 18c that day. Australia, summer? Al Gore must be near....

Out of the large number of council houses I go in to fix their boilers, over 90% of them have at least one LCD TV that's oversized!! They're constantly logged into Facebook telling the world how they don't work and have a life of luxury, going on holiday or moaning that their boilers have broken and no ones been out to fix it (even though they get it done for free). The house stinks of weed, **** and booze but yet they can't afford to put any money on their gas meter!! These are the people who will get their laptops and take them straight to Cash Generator and spend the money on more of the above!!

Do something useful with the money, buy some grit and clear the roads for the few weeks that it's snowed this winter OR buy our Armed Forces some better kit and pay for them to have better comms with their families!!

Brown is a tit!!

*it's obviously not just council tenants that will get these laptops but is probably a very large percentage!!

There are many people making a living from the NHS, who believe it is a very good way to waste a lot of money. Try talking to any GP.
Though they try, you can't just buy loyalty

What a ridiculous waste of money. Why can't they just get one from Bright House next time they go for a new Telly?

There's an Irish bar in Darling Harbour that does pints

I was close by to Ulla "duller" a couple of weeks back (Lake Tabourie),took the kids in a few times, its like a bloody retirement village, the shops were bizarre, my favourite being a combo of an old peoples hairdressers, 2nd hand book shop and a cafe, it was lik soeones front room from the 60's, Batemans Bay way nicer.

I know what you mean about the butchers, found a decent one down at Como till hard to replace the Parmesan and Pancetta's I was so found of .

That said just got a text from one of my best mates, being stuck in hospital for a routine minor op, he waited 8 hours for a pre test and they then sent 11 people home due to lack of beds, he was lucky he managed to get a bed, albeit not on the ward the wanted him on

When it comes to this sort of nonsense they are behaving like a bunch of prats trying anything mindlessly to get a bit more support.

When Flash promises suport to Haiti or similar, then I will support that completely.

For me it makes me feel hugley grateful to live in a part of the world that is politically, climatically and geologically stable.

These poor people have suffered too much already. I do not want words from my government on this I WANT ACTION!

I guess, humm, if you live in a hurricane prone area, you will, errrmm...suffer hurricanes. And, as I discovered since the earthquake, they live in a quake prone area too.

So to compare the position on earth of the UK and Haiti is rediculous. But rediculous has not stopped you before.

Interesting. Comparing places prone to hurricanes and earthquakes, and that suffer them regularly to places that don't. Who needs help understanding that difference?

Martin I know is is easy just to blindly jump on the climate change bandwagon but there is a little more to this.

The Carribbean has 1 major earthquake (7.0 or above) of that size every 40-50 years or so, the region has done for the last 500 years.

It is earthquake prone, OK every 40-50 years but it is regular and has been for a considerable time.

People have short memeories it seems, not knocking the people in the earthquake but it should be remembered that if you live in a region that has earthquakes, sh*t happens.

This is not about climate change or global warming, it is about a consistent geographical problem.
