Isnt that a bit of a low reading for an sc46? Although you havent stated its a billet your running, it still seems low. Im getting the 46billet on mine and as results have shown the 2.5 and sc46 billet produces 460hp, hopefully more in my case

Another clinic GT35 B
This time on an Sti 4, 2.35,
Vpower+15% meth

1.95 bar midrange, 1.9 at 7k. 590lbft of torque from 4600rpm, not bad for non-avcs heads

Turbo had more to give but was maxing out injectors at anything over 7krpm and possibly also the sti4 heads.

Hi Craig,

dont get to over excited, you will only be disappointed, set your sights a little lower then you will be more than chuffed with the result.

Remember its not all about dyno figures, it is how the power is delivered on the road what counts.

Case in point, we have just mapped a GT30 Billet on a P1 with a 2.35 conversion, bear in mind it was on a non Billet GT35 to start with, after mapping there were disappointed faces as it did not get to the 600 BHP expected, on the road however it was stunning, so much so in fact it wrecked its 5th gear on the way home, bugger !!

Maz mikes car has more to come, just wait until its settled in and Martyn turns the wick up.

Nice result Andy, thanks for up dateing the thread.

cheers
Kev

What should i be expecting Kev? I was just going off the results from this thread. I know figures are kinda silly but it does help to justify the money spent i guess.

Hi,

we will have to wait and see.

All engines differ, the parts you have all add up to a 450 BHP package, the same package gave us 460 BHP earlier in this thread, so it should be there or there abouts.

You will need some driving tuition to handle it, trust me.

Cheers

As you said the other day, your running low boost to run your engine in. when you up the boost I think the bhp number will go up. If it "seems very fast" now, think how it will feel on higher boost. Im doing a similar build soon (hopefully) and I think I will take up Kev`s advice regarding "driving tuition".

Hi,

back to more normal BHP figures and simple upgrades, the printout below is an SC36 Billet on an 05 WRX with STI injectors a pump and a re map of the stock ecu.

Name: SC36Billet.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 100.4 KB

Boost and AFR. showing power at the wheels.

Name: 36Billetwrx.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 98.0 KB

spot on the money.

Here is another SC36 Billet this time on a 2.1 stroker by Engine Tuner.

Name: scan0001-1.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 81.3 KB

Boost and Lambda, note the right hand side of the graph is in lambda, not AFR.

Name: scan0003.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 82.3 KB

The above graphs show both the SC36 Billet and the 2.1 stroker in a good light, the stroker makes 1.2 bar of boost at 3500 RPM the 2.0 ltr making 1.2 bar at 3800 RPM, shows the stroker spools quicker, if more boost were to be run then the BHP figure would go up to, the customer in this case didnt want any more power just a nice and safe, quick spooling road car.

Cheers
Kev

Hi,

as stated before, give the car a chance, its only running conservative boost on a fresh engine, we mapped a car 3000 miles ago and saw just 300 BHP on a vf34, mounted to a 2.5 standard conversion in a type R, this was a new build, as is yours.

It came back for an oil and filter last week, we popped it on the dyno and saw 327 BHP exactly where it should be, now loosend up and bedded in.

Give it time and enjoy the punch the car delivers, trust me when another tuner rings up, in this case Martyn from engine tuner, excited about the way the SC46 billet delivers on a car then you know its special.

cheers
Kev

Hi Mike, I thought we had this conversation the other day and you were aware which angle we were coming at it from. If you want to ignore my advice and turn the wick straight up to 1.8 bar or more, feel free to drop it back at your convenience and I will crack the boost up.
I have now mapped 3 SC46 turbos and am very pleased with the results we have been getting from them .

Reduced inertia CHRA (due to the billet comp wheel). We very much like that!

Hi,

update on the Nippon challenge.

Vaughan Fletcher scooped 1st place in both rounds of the 2010 Nippon Challenge final at Brands Hatch at the weekend, and in doing so has claimed the 2010 series title to add to the 2010 GT300 class title he secured earlier this year.

During the 2010 season, Fletcher and his “ScoobyClinic” prepared Subaru Impreza, have taken 7 race wins, 10 class wins and set 6 lap records in the process.

All on a Billet SC36 turbo.

2nd on podium in both races on Sunday was Ian Froggat, also running an SC36 Billet.

Well done to both of the drivers and the support from all the team that made it possible.

cheers

Thought those Graphs looked familiar

Very happy with the results from the SC36 and Martyns fettling. Car pulls smoothly right through the rev range and actually runs better low down than it did as standard. Of course it pulls like a train at the top end as well

Have you compared results from both the gt30 and gt33 Billets?
Interested to see on the same engine the difference in spool and power.
In the market for a gt30billet but am wondering would the 33 be a wise buy instead

Hi,

we have not tried the 33 billet yet as the 30 billet is so hard to beat, the next jump is filled by the GT35 Billet, of which one recently achieved 750 BHP.

So if there are to be any xmas offers it may be the 33 Billet as there seems no place for it on the shelf at the moment.

Unless someone becomes a test mule and proves differently of course.

cheers

Thats a real pity, maybe i am being stupid but with the way these Billets are performing, i was hoping that maybe the 33 would be similar to 35 power potential and be near same as 30 to spool... GT35 power with a GT30 delivery if u like

Chuck it on down Kev and we'll give it a go, could be just right on a 2.1 stroked STi8 we are building.
