scoobyclinics turbo's just got billet I mean better!
Hi,
spool is good, not as quick as standard but lets remember its a bigger turbo, however being a billet compressor wheel its 33% lighter and more aerodynamic, so spool is still excellent.
We ran a car on the dyno 2 weeks ago, same spec as yours with a Bob Rawle map, it did exactly what Bob predicted, in this case 340 BHP, so you are in with a chance on the guesstimate being correct.
Here is a graph of a spec C car with a standard engine fitted with an SC46 Billet twin scroll turbo, it is on a meth mix at the customers request.
Not bad for a direct fit unit.

That is very impressive, although I won't be using a methanol mix I have to say WOW.
Just need to start saving now.

I think the problem must lie in particular combinations that have been attempted rather than the MAF per se. I've used a v6 MAF (the fragile one supposedly) with no problems on the following three states of tune on a 2.0 :
1. VF28, TMIC, K&N 57i, Samco inlet, 3" system, standard DV, 1.35bar, approx 310bhp.
2. VF28 hybrid, Hybrid FMIC, K&N 57i, Samco inlet, 3" system, Harvey headers, standard DV, 1.6bar max, 340bhp on Zen dyno. Slight judder on lift-off when boost was at 1.6bar.
3. as above but MD321H, 1.6bar, 360bhp on Zen dyno. No judder, lovely to drive. Should be capable of more power with this turbo, may try tubular headers next.
I did plan to replace with Q45 before the latest tune, but a faulty part meant that I stuck with the v6 MAF for now. Current MAF has been on there for 3+ years. Have spare new one in glovebox.
I should add that I have permanent wideband AFR gauge (calibrated regularly), detalarm (remote LEDs mounted in binnacle so you can actually see them), knock count (v.low) on Apexi hand commander, and EGT, so I would/will know if the MAF plays up.

These fit straight into the MY99/00 std sized trunking with no hassle don't they?
Andy, do you know what the horizontal and vertical pitches are for the Q45's bolt holes? Are they the same as for the OEM MY99/00 MAF?

use charlies rollers a lot and used scoobyclinics a few times.. one particular car for experiment I tried same map on same car on both.. and was within 0.4bhp.. on a 500bhp car.
Oh and scoobyclinic was 0.4bhp up so they must over read like loads

Cheers, yeah seen those ones on eBay. Might give it a punt before a remap on the OEM ECU, as the MY93-98 style of MAF (Q45 is this style), historically, are less 'fragile' than the MY99/00 ones... 
That said, though, I do have a post-2006 "green stripe" MY99/00 already fitted, and these are supposed to be okay (due to their relative 'newness' if nothing else, I guess?...)

Which turbo would you expect to make 400+ bhp on a STi 5 with equal-length tubular headers/40mm up-pipe/550s/FPR/Hyperflow FMIC, etc... BUT... only mapped on Esso Supreme 97!
I'm guessing it'd have to be the SC42, yeah?

Latest update on the original billet 35R We have now mapped the car on race fuel in preparation for TOTB next month. Results were impressive as you will see in the graph below, you should also note that car originally did 622 on V-Power/20% Meth on the Scoobyclinic rollers, whereas at Zen it was lower as can be seen on the graph from April @ 613 (The Zen rollers do tend to read a little lower). However back to back you can see a 33bhp increase by switching to race fuel yesterday. Also note the increased ambient temps on the printout compared to April !

I don't understand how you can have 646hp at the engine and 579 at the wheels, this would result in just 10% loss which is impossible with a 4WD vehicle which roughly loses about 20% due to the drivetrain.
Am i missing something ?
Also, how does the Meth mixing work ? Do you inject Methanol or do you just add Methanol when you fill the fuel tank and how exactly do you go about that ?

Meth is mixed with the fuel in my case.

Excellent result clive
Tossing in a couple of litres could be a recipe for disaster if the ignition advance is set for a particular fuel/methanol mix. You must control the fuel mix carefully to ensure the fuel is always of the strength minimum that the car was mapped to otherwise you will run in to det.

You may have noticed another billet turbo in the line up, the SC 38, today we ran one on a 2.5 converted STI 8 running forged pistons on "V" power.
here is the printout.
Standard top mount, and a Syvecs ECU.
Boost and AFR.
Spool is amazing, on the road a bar was made at just under 2600 rpm and full boost at 2650 rpm.
A welcome newcomer to the Billet range the SC38 billet is a winner, at just £ 895.00 + vat its a bargain to.
