scoobyclinics turbo's just got billet I mean better!
have you any estimates on bhp/torque for my particular set up as described above ?

I have seen some nice results with the old sc46 on a 2.0 so im thinking the new billett one might work pretty well.
But if you could get say 430hp with the sc40 billet + meths that would be pretty handy as well.

looking into getting a turbo that can produce a true 400/400 or as close to that as possible on our fantastic irish fuel

Their bigger brother, the SC46 billet has the advantage of a roller bearing core, hence the price difference.

Quite how the SC40 will perform we dont yet know, however if the SC36 results are anything to go by it should be a winner

I`m getting confused. Is it the single or twin-scroll sc46 thats being tested. The twin has been done last month so I assume its the single.??

its the single scroll SC46 Billet that is waiting testing, the twin scroll was tested weeks ago as you correctly state.
Although I do know that an SC46 Billet has been tested by another specialist and the results were stunning, no dyno figures though but it ticked all the right box's, customer loves it

Wont guess on figures once rolling road is sorted i will post them up .But when on 1.8 bar map the power and torque are amazing .(no more laggy new age comments for me)

update on the SC40 Billet, not good I am afraid,
This one didnt work very well, 378 BHP on a 2.0 ltr STI 8 with a syvecs, fmic, injectors and inlet pipe.
Back to the drawing board, time for a change of comp wheel.
Printouts before and after to follow.

had my hopes pinned on this little fella but fair play kev for all the testing and honest results, as you say back to the drawing board with change of compressor wheel

As a test we decided to run the car before work commenced which is shown in the red traces running the stock VF35, blue traces are the SC 40 Billet and other mods previously mentioned.

As you can see there are some nice gains, BHP has gone from 283 to 373.9 BHP, torque has shot up from 290 ftlbs to 350 ftlbs.
Thats 90 BHP and 60ftlbs, both not to be sniffed at but not as good as we wanted, so as I say back to the drawing board

This weekend we entered our "Pink car" in time attack at Oulton park, not only as a bit of fun but to test our new gearkit & billet GT30, in real race conditions.
Last time it went out to do drag runs at Santa Pod, 0 to 60 in 2.6 seconds, 18 launches with launch control, testing the gearbox and turbo under those conditions, a wash, a map tweak and a geometry set up then off to Time attack
We knocked 1.7 seconds off our pevious lap times from 2 years ago when we were running a GT35 R, the smaller GT30 Billet, running less boost showing it works well, gearbox was superb, no signs of snicking syncro's.
A 2nd place was achieved, beaten by just 0.4 of a second to a skyline.


A successful day for both Billet turbo's and the new SC gearkits, not forgetting all the efforts put in by the team and some superb driving from Kevin Horsely.

Hi,
yes, 4th season with wins in Time attack, Scooby sprint, Scooby shootout, dozens of track events and santa pod drag runs, all without a spanner on them
Other point we need to mention is they are the basic kit, not the DT2 full race stuff

Its a winning combination, SC Billet turbo, the new SC gearkit, Hot bits and the recently renamed solaris ecu.

To be that close to a car running a GT42 and over 800whp shows you don't need a monster turbo to be competitive
The turbo behaved brilliantly on track, no lag and really smooth power delivery, just what you need on track!
