Are you sure?

From SC42 all turbos(standard location) using Garrett GT30 core and rotated GT30 with 63AR work well on 2.0L

We have seen 595 BHP on an evo running straight V power which is pretty close.

I'm with Jura on this a .63 'zorst housing on a 2.0 should be fine but running a GR30R on a standard (albeit strong), bottom end is a waste of time as it will eat it up and spit it out. Think you have made the right choice given the limitation of your set up

Has anyone got any back to back direct comparison graphs of a GT35R billet VS Non billet on a 2.1 if possible?

If you're going to swap Omar, go for a Billet 30 on a .63 for road work.
If you wanted to be really clever about it, get a V banded rotated setup and one of each turbo with V band exhaust housings.
Then you could swap to the 35 for drag racing and back to the 30 for road effortlessly and just run CALs for each in your Syvecs

Out of interest, what's the A/R of a TD05H 20g (or turbos based on it)?

Is it 0.63, 0.73, 0.89? What?

Depends on your exhaust housing, but usual conversion is

6 cm2 = 0.41 A/R
7 cm2 = 0.49 A/R
8 cm2 = 0.57 A/R
9 cm2 = 0.65 A/R
10 cm2 = 0.73 A/R
11 cm2 = 0.81 A/R
12 cm2 = 0.89 A/R

Cheers J.

Those exh. housing/AR relationships are helpful/interesting.

Looks like 20g based turbos are 7cm^2 @ 0.49 A/R

2.1 and a GT30 billet is a hard combination to beat imo ,for a fast road car.
If your going forged/rotated route that is.

From all the results ive seen and all the graphs ive studied of this combination i totally agree with you pete,i think anything bigger like a GT35 is better suited to a 2.33/2.35/2.5 etc, certainly on a road car anyway.

Hi,

if you are happy to run 20% meth go for the GT30 billet, spool will be so much better than the GT35.

cheers

With 0.63AR you will have better spool up,with 0.82 you will have more top end and you will sacrifice the spool up

Jura
so for track based would you be looking at the .82 or is the difference minimal the .63 spool up option is better?

I'd recommend the .63 for you Chris, you wont need the .82 as it'll be plenty fast enough on the small housing.
