scoobyclinics turbo's just got billet I mean better!
I could well be willing to be a test mule here Kev, as I'm considering going from the billet 35 that I currently have to a Billett 30. My reasoning is that I'm not seeing the best out of the 35 but don't really want to push the pinned 2.5 any further to get the best out of it.
So I can have the same sort of power (600bhp) with a billet 30 but have better spool.
Once I can afford a gearbox upto the job I'll give you shout.

Hi,
the GT30 Billet is the best rotated all rounder.

If you are not chasing big numbers its far more useful as the spool is 2nd to none, alltough I mention big numbers, we have many GT30 Billets out there running over 600 BHP so not to be sniffed at.
Would be interesting to see one on a strengthened 2.5, now what blocks have we got in the cupboards.

cheers

500bhp is a fantastic result. Interesting comparison between the twin scroll and single scroll SC46. The twin has produced more power, but less toque than the single scrolls seem to. I would guess that any difference in spool is nominal. Although trying to get a like for like comparision is bloody hard!
Will try and get mine on the APi rollers when I'm next up there! I can only offer my Delta Dyno run (which was done at 1.2k miles on the new engine) as a comparison for what it's worth!
Enjoy it mate!

I'd be interested to see a back to back of a billet 30 vs a billet 35 on the exact same motor.
I currently have. Stock 35r and a billet 30 is tempting, lol

Hi,
our direct fit SC46 would get you near with amazing spool.
If you are number chasing then go for the SC54 billet, you will loose spool but it will get you over 500 on V power.

One thing to remember though big numbers are not everything, a lower BHP figure with better spool can result in a quicker car, especially a road car.

cheers
Kev
thanks for your reply,i currently run an rcm 450,what gains/bhp could i exspect to see from the sc46? why would the sc54 not be ideal? lag? boosting late? what about your sc50? thanks again

Wondered when you were going to get that car on the road and run in.

Its been on the road for a few months now, but only recently run in and put on the rollers at API. The results are "interesting". I thought it may of had more torque and less power, but hay, what do I know.

Hi,
they can be upgraded but we are not offering the service at present as we cannot keep up with demand for brand new billet wheeled turbos let alone up grading non billet ones.

Sorry.

Obviously you can't carry it out as of yet but how much does it usually cost? Have there been any comparisons of one carried out of a before and after?
Would the turbo have to be one that was previously supplied by you in orderto be billet-ized?
Yeah, sure.
Also, leeroy ups to 20% meth then even more gains to had -- near 500bhp I reckon! Because Glenn's smaller SC42 went from 451 @ 16.6% to 475 @ 20%!! (And his - too! - was 'held back' due to a 5sp.). :thumb

Just interested to know round about figures, Moved from TMIC to FMIC and been mapped @ 20%Meth Monday so interested to know roundabout figures before it goes on the rollers ASAP to find out. Might have to try and get it somewhere later this week. Seems no one has pushed it on the 2 litres
Will you be getting mapped on 20% meth then I take it (or on at least one map if running Simtek, etc.), and getting the mapper to max out the 46 for all it's worth?
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say you'll get 499.9.
Seriously I expect, the bracket will end up in the 480-500 area.

Yep that the plan anyway. Went to see the car this morning and all the FMIC and FPR was on, Just needed the bumper cutting and some fuel seals sorting as it was a first fitment. One map for just v-power then a second for the meth mix.
Here's hoping it can make those sort of figures anyway!
Well, if you have a 'lucky' engine/mods set-up, then every chance, mate.
But as you know, even "on-the-face-of-it" identical cars, can end up making signficantly different numbers...
