optimax vs unleaded?

That's alot of petrol! 
We always use optimax - we get ~ 22 - 28mpg depending on how much motorway stuff is done. I know UK turbo's are ment to be ok with "normal" 95 - but it's say's 97 or above on the petrol cap, and everyone I've met uses at least super.
