Those are your best options outside subaru clubs, you could try some importers but mostly its quite a speciallised area so a limited market

Thats more than what he paid me for it 3 years ago.

Realistically, it'd be worth approx half that here now. Theres not a chance I'd consider paying anywhere near that for it. I did love it and wish I still had it. Even if I paid him what he paid me for it, I'd instantly lose about £5k on it here.

If you ever speak to the owner on any of the Swedish forums, tell him to PM me on here, I'd love to see some recent pictures of it (and if he gets real with his price, I might be interested )

But I actually paid even more on year ago for mine, about 15k GBP

They are that overpriced here in Sweden. But my car was/is pretty much mint with currently 49000 km on the clock (42000 km when I bought it).

Because of the huge difference in prices I actually thought about selling mine and importing a cheaper one myself but I realized that it would be hard to find an example that would be near as good.

But then again that 2.5l conversion with 6-speed feels appealing which could probably be financed by the money I would save in getting a cheaper one

You could have bought my old spec c for that money and you have just over the mileage my type R has on the clock (about 2k km or 29.7k miles in total) but a lovely example you have there

My old spec c would have still had her if I knew how much money I was going to earn in my new job worst mistake in cars ever for me selling her

When I bought mine 5 years ago, I paid £16.5k for it and it had only done
16000 km !!!

Just been for a quick drive in my current scoob... dont get me wrong, its very nice but I was wishing I had my old car back

I reckon you could be right, sell yours in Sweden, speak to one or two if the UK importers and get them to fetch you one over that fits the bill and get the mods done

I've actually just emailed Jurgen at JM Imports nr Newcastle and asked a ball park figure to bring over a mint, low mileage V5/V6 STi Type R Ltd from Japan. If the price is right, I might sell my Blob STi and get another Type R (would have to be another Ltd though). I'll let you know what he says

Tony I remember your Spec C, if my memory serves me right, did you bring it to one of the L.A.D.S. rolling road days at Prosport not that long after you'd bought it?

Yes, she had 1800 miles on the clock roughly, ran her with a standard air filter, 288bhp 297lbs torque (ran twice) then sat there on the rolling road with the engine running, changed the filter to an STI one and ran her again, 300bhp and 312lbs torque (also ran twice) nice improvement in power
Loved that car need another one think the type R is great but its no where near as sure footed as the Spec C was (especially at speed )
Plus I miss the power from 1500rpm to the red line

I think your misunderstanding what im getting at John
I am saying that the car is set up to understeer, you can induce oversteer quite easily (as in any car, fwd/4wd/rwd) but you take a car fitted with dccd into a corner at speed, say a nice long sweeping corner in the dry and keep your foot down, it wont oversteer, this being my point, it will understeer.
And like any car (done this with a fwd car) you can oversteer on the likes of a roundabout (very easily done in the wet on any car or a little bit of handbrake or very natural on the older pugs ) but you have to have a bad driving style to force it all the time, hence you use the dccd controller more on corners to make the car more stable.

Anyway, a little busy at work, will do some more posting tomorrow

I don't think i am misunderstanding anything Tony, if you think you can judge a cars balance by how it works when you drive a fast corner with your foot down you don't understand car dynamics or how to drive something at the limit.

You can make a DCCD equipped car oversteer, understeer or be neutral just by altering how you drive in very subtle ways, irrespective of where the diff is set. Your explanation of the effect of adjusting the diff is completely backwards.

I think I know exactly why you are saying what you are saying, but thats only because i think you are inducing and then correcting a handling trait with the wrong initial driving technique.

From year 2006, Japan Imports can not be registereds here in Spain, only european models with european homologation and 17 digit vin numbers can be registered.

2003 STI Type UK can be registered
2003 STI JDM Import can not be registered

Only imports models from year 2005 or newer possibly can be registered, but is expensive and dificult.

RHD is not a problem.
