Oil man,your recomendation please,got a 98 sti type R but will be modded to 500bhp...also gearbox oil please (gearbox is 2005 sti WR1 6 speed)

For that, I wouldn't suggest anything Halfords sell. We have a free shipping offer until Sunday, use the code FREESHIPJAN, so it should be better price wise than Halfords.
5w-40, 5w-40 oil, 5w40, 5w/40
Out of those, the best ones are the Silkolene Pro S, Millers CFS, Motul 300V, Redline and Gulf Competition. I would stick with one of those as the engine is pretty powerful

We asked Millers to bring it to the market as the Silkolene Pro S 10w-50 is such a big seller.
We are now Millers Distributors but the launch is next week when we will have special exclusive to Opie Oils offer to accompany the launch.
More Millers products will be coming to our site in the next few weeks including some more products that are new to the market.

For the engine go for a a 10w-50
10w-50 oil

does it ,matter what bearings etc ur running, such as acl race bearing.
my engine is new DIY build and at min running on a mineral oil 10w 40, done 100 miles so far. should i now put the best oil in??
or is there a procedure i should follow?
what grades / semi / fully synthetic?
what sorta mileage intervals?

I would change the oil about now, then again at 250, 500 and finally at a 1000 miles put the good stuff in. Stick to basic mineral or semi oils until the change at a 1000 miles, but there is another way of doing it involving cycles of hard revving and easing off, but I'm not an expert in that by any means.
The bearings will be fine with the mineral oils and finally a good ester synthetic
