Ok, so who has been upsetting cyclists ?

Just got back and on the road where monks heath subaru is there is always at least 20 cyclists on that road, its the longest stretch of road without trafficlights in cheshire apparently so it attracts loads of bikers, on the way bcak we had two groups of three abreast, dawdling along chatting holding everyobe else up, then quel suprise they go straight through monks heath lights when they are on red and TURN LEFT into the path of oncoming traffic, the ******* clowns!
This is the reason i dislike cyclists, cos i see this **** every week!

I felt myself getting annoyed by the run that was going through Wilmslow at the weekend, bloody hundreds, couple riding sie by side, but as I said earlier, my inconvenience was momentary and I still got to wait behind other cars, my journey time averaged 18 mph, slightly over what I can do regularly on the bike, on the way back it was several times that as it was quiet.
You are entitled if they are obstructing the road to give a short sound of your horn, if they have anything about them, they should move over as you have alerted them to your presence, if they dont and give you abuse then thats not on as you are using the horn correctly, dont sit there with it held on, that does annoy people, I think as well part of the problem is that modern car horns dont say excuse me they say "F*CK OFF OUT OF MY WAY" they are so loud and strident (like BentMikeys airzound), normally for to warn peds on a bike you have a bell, that rarely causes offence (mainly cos they dont hear it) but its so inofensive but a modern horn should have a lower power seting based on how hard you touch it (if it hasnt already)

Oh give over with the hackneyed line about those who pay for the road, it gets shot down in flames every single time, it isnt the roads you pay for, its the right to used a motorised vehicle on it, we are all on a level playing field here, you make the choice whether to use a car or a bike, you pay Vehicle excise duty, a bike isnt classed as a vehicle and a couple of hundred quid a year doesnt give anybody the right to be **** like that.
Do we ban cycling so that just the paying users can use the roads ?
Do we ban cycling so that just the paying users can use the roads ?
Why don't you give over with your stupid bleeding tw4tty bike on the roads?!
Why don't you pay road tax to help maintain the roads that you use?
Why dont you have insurance so that when you cause an accident you can take responsibility and not leave someone else to pick up the tab??
Why do you feel the need to ride just far enough away from the kerb to make overtaking impossible? And why cant you ride in a straight line without wobbling in and out away from the kerb and out into the road again making passing you a hazzard?
Why are you even on the roads on something that cant get out of trouble should it need to? You are like a slow moving accident waiting to happen.
Tell me how green your poxy little bike is with 7 cars, a double decker and a lorry all crawling along at 15mph because they can't pass you? How green are you really!!!!! Answer that!
I'm not suprised that D4N OK got out and shouted - I would have been tempted with that bloody silly air horn. How many times had that bloke blown it at him? You dont know do you?
IMO any person sad enough to film and carry an air horn is the sort of A Hole that would make sure he was in the right place at the right time to do it - for all you know he harrasses drivers.
Push bikes pi$$ me off. You pi$$ me off. Ride em on the effing pavements. I never used to ride my bike on the road and no I was never a problem for pedestrians.
If you bother quoting any of this don't expect me to reply. I really don't give a **** and you can talk till your blue in the goddam face. Knock yourself out. Have the last word. Go on, treat yourself to the moral highground, it's right there and it's all yours.

He obviously came home early one day to find his wife (or more likely mother) being sh@gged by Lance Armstrong.
PS I know I shouldn't even bother replying but heh, feeling generous today!
I've just forked out my £247.50 road tax for my Forester which does a miserly 4k miles a year. You know why? Because it sits in the garage, neither polluting your precious air nor damaging your already potholed roads as I cycle 20 miles round trip to and from work on my push bike.
So work that one out if your tiny brain can get round the point I'm making..... Oh, and i have cycle insurance, so I think you may have a slight flaw in your ever so well put point

interestingly (or not) the same youtube clip that is the subject of this thread has recently been re-posted in the "was it you" section
does SN have a term for this continual reposting of material?

Would that 20 mile journey be Penicuik to Edinburgh SiPie?
I normally cycle the same distance back and forth between Balerno and Orchardbrae on my Cannondale R700. Must admit I've just bought my first turbo trainer so me and the gf have been on that daily instead. Mountain bike in the pentlands on Saturday probably.
Anyway, I think someone on this thread needs a chillpill, but I'll forgive them since they're a Zeppelin fan!.
Andy
PS I pay road tax too. And I've seen elderly drivers that wobble about on the road far more than I ever do!

Ddint want to bite, but couldnt help myself
Why don't you give over with your stupid bleeding tw4tty bike on the roads?!
Why don't you pay road tax to help maintain the roads that you use?
Pay it on three cars, one is exempt but its still £400 plus a year, plus income tax, NI, Council Tax, VAT etc etc on a fairly decent salry, I pay ebough, into government coffers to allow myself the small luxury of riding the seven miles to work in the p1ssing rain to try and save some money on petrol, get fitter and get some fresh air.
Why dont you have insurance so that when you cause an accident you can take responsibility and not leave someone else to pick up the tab??
CTC, look it up mate,
Why do you feel the need to ride just far enough away from the kerb to make overtaking impossible? And why cant you ride in a straight line without wobbling in and out away from the kerb and out into the road again making passing you a hazzard?
I am reasonably proficient, I dont generally wobble and stay in as far as I can so cars can overtake, it annoys me to be stuck behind cyclists when in the car so I try to minimise any disruption to drivers, I suspect you get annoyed at a short delay sat behind a bike but sit in a queue of cars for ages quite happily. As for make passing me a "hazzard", Im just a good ole boy, never meanin no harm, beats all you ever saw, been in trouble with the law since the day I was born.....
Why are you even on the roads on something that cant get out of trouble should it need to? You are like a slow moving accident waiting to happen.
Get out of trouble at 15/20 mph, generally you just slow down or stop as opposed to using acceleration, even in cars that is a very rare occurence, i.e. needing to use full power to get out of trouble, if you drive well thats a once a decade requirement, most of the trouble is generally from agressive car drivers using their car to intimidate or dopey ones not being observant.
Tell me how green your poxy little bike is with 7 cars, a double decker and a lorry all crawling along at 15mph because they can't pass you? How green are you really!!!!! Answer that!
Ok, answer that, my route is rural, I use the roads, where possible that cars cant or dont want to, rarely get more than 1 or 2 cars waiting and that is usually the patient ones wanting to avoid overtaking into oncoming cars on a bend, its litterally seconds, I would pull over if I were causing a queue, dotn want a load of angry motorists sat behind me, as, like I said, when in the car I dotn like being held up for no reason. Not trying to be green in any way by the way, I am no eco nutter, I just like riding my bike, like I did before "green" ever existed.
I'm not suprised that D4N OK got out and shouted - I would have been tempted with that bloody silly air horn. How many times had that bloke blown it at him? You dont know do you?
I dont have an air horn but I can see why that guy blew his "D4N" was being a **** and someone remonstrated and he lost it, an aggressive little man who lost his bluster outside his car, a bit tragic really. Do you really think "D4N" is a good example of a driver, imagine his reaction if your missus got in his way or your mum crossing at a pedestrian.
IMO any person sad enough to film and carry an air horn is the sort of A Hole that would make sure he was in the right place at the right time to do it - for all you know he harrasses drivers.
Harass drivers ? looked like the bloke on the recumbent bike was getting harrassed, being so low down he needs to be able to alert drivers, I dotn have one as though on a couple of occasions it would be useful to alert drivers who havent seen me I dont want one on my bike all the time and I dont want to antagonise angry men like that, a punch up at the side of the road doesnt do anyone any good. I dont film it either.
Push bikes pi$$ me off. You pi$$ me off. Ride em on the effing pavements. I never used to ride my bike on the road and no I was never a problem for pedestrians.
Ok, will do but when you have to jump out of the way for 250 pounds of me, bike and whatever I have on my back travelling at between 15 and 30 mph dont complain, kinetic enery can be a bitch.

J4CKO - you were 245lb last year: is all that excercise not working or is that "Christmas belly"?
