Yes my friend, I will. All I ask is a little extra to cover the international postage and some insurance on the package. Send me a PM with your car details and we can discuss it.

Yup. At the time, it was the only plug-in and go solution for the early imprezas and supply was limited. Apexi plus mapping would have been maybe £850, so £300-400 didnt seem like the crazy amount it is now.

I had one of the original ones in 2004 off David Wallis and my car ran very well on it. By far the best BHP per £ you can get, these are a bargain.

Thanks for the endorsement mate. They are a lot of bang for the money, compared to other mods.

Just one question for you... just reading the instructions - at the bottom it says "if required at stage 8 above, wires can be solder to the cut resistor and run to a dash or ECU case mounted switch. Thus enabling a 2-stage boost setting"

I take it when the J1 resistor is connected it only does standard boost and when its disconnected it runs the boost setting of the chip?

Could be a good idea for track to pass noise regs maybe?

When the resistor is connected, the ECU's original map is used, not just boost setting. Once the resistor is cut, the map on the chip is used. So if you put a switch on the resistor connection, you switch between maps.

If this is done will a resistor have to be put inline on the switch wire, just wonderd what the point of the resistor is.

Hi Bobby

I've replied to your PM, but in the meantime, have a quick read of my FAQ. It'll answer all your questions.

Hi Worbs, the resistor is part of the ECU. It gets cut (not removed) during the installation of the chip. If you reconnect it, the ECU uses the original map. Hope that clarifies.

Not really lol sorry, iv got the chip in my ecu but the j1 resistor has been totaly removed, if i wanted to put in a switch to run standard map would i need to use the j1 inline, what does it do, i mean in terms of the ecu i no what a resistor does, if you where to just link the j1 legs without the resistor would it be ok.

Sorry to get all technical just could fancy the idea of running standard map at the flick of a switch if anyone else drives my car, but dont want to kill the ecu if the resistor is there limiting current etc.

Let me see what I can find out for you. I don't recognise your username, is it a chip I supplied?
