No 'special' tools required, but you may have to solder a socket in. Check your email James, need an answer to my question when you have a moment bud.

Yes, arguably slightly more with breathing mods, i.e. filter and exhaust.
Forgot to say (and I'll edit my original post), these chips come with comprehensive fitting instructions.
I had a z4 ecu on my old classic running a a decat and filter and the switch to scoobyecu was like night and day far better performance
