I personally always drive like Miss Daisy whenever I see a marked car anywhere in the immediate vicinity.
If I don't exceed the speed limit and don't nail it they should have no real excuse to pull me over. I was once followed all round an estate by a marked Astra who was obviously desperate to try and pull me over, and I just drove everywhere at 30mph and he couldn't do a thing.

Only exception I've ever had to that rule is when I was in Twickenham on a Friday night and got pulled by a WPC in a riot van because "she'd been told to stop all Imprezas because so many are stolen." I had to laugh when she said - "the fact that you've stopped is a fairly good indication - I'd have never been able to catch you in the van" lol.

I was driving with some spirit down some duel carriageway about a week ago, but never went past 80- just entered/exited roundabouts very quickly- in a gran turismo, GTA way !!

had a grey astra trying to keep up, in/out the roundabout.

after 3 miles at a set of lights, the most beautiful lady copper pulled along side me in the grey astra and told me off, most sternly:

It was great, that ones in the w a n k bank for later !!!

anyway after fulfiling all sorts of filth in my mind, off I drove.

but I am a very clean cut, well dressed chap in a very tidy and un chaved up impreza who smiled, agreed and wasn't an idiot with her.

funnily enough as an aside- I was cycling up over ilkley moor last night- we came across 3 traffic patrol cars, tucked away on the remotest of country roads, with them all stood out chatting away (hiding from doing any work if you ask me!!)

when we eventually got back to where we'd left our cars, I caned the living daylights out of mine, knowing not a copper was in sight !!!!!!

Yesterday was the 1st time I was happy to see an unmarked Lexus (it had pulled over a Chavalier in Brinkworth)... the number of times I've been tailgated or overtaken in the 30mph zone through that village by ***** who think commuting traffic are excluded from obeying the speed limit... especially as once we've left the village they are then holding me up (50mph in a 60)
