I'm guessing & vaguely remember that you had a Spec C before ... what prompted the move to the RS & how do you find them different?

There was a Noble in between and the wife didnt like being so low down. Simples. nice useable car now, that can be lots of fun when needed.

But how does it go round corners when you take your hands off the steering wheel and boot it?

Shaun, when is the trackday, although having seen your car, and you on track I would have no chance!! I'm sure Matteeboy will thrash you in his rep mobile though!!

Going back to topic, I heard a rumour that some of the long term test RS engines were failing at high BHP, although I'm fairly sure that rumour was quashed by Dave at Mountune shortly afterwards!!

erm, you try cornering at high speed and take your hands off the wheel. i will do it once your safely round. I personnally DONT take my hands off the wheel while cornering. Torque steer is there yes but come on its not that bad in sport mode. Where an RS should be IMHO.

I was kidding Spec

It was in reference to this ridiculous post below where markymark was trying to tell me I should accelerate hard in my ST whilst removing my hands from the wheel to see some torque steer (which I've still never had in my ST EVER!!).

managed to **** a wheel in mine this evening. there is rather lots of grip there to get a rear wheel off the ground while cornering.

I remember when Mattee said he was going to keep a low profile and just comment on cars etc.........didn't take him long to get "back into the fray".......

Nothing wrong with a Focus ST, pretty capable car tuned I reckon, a 335D is always going to have a shed load of torque although the estate version is never going to say anything but "Family Man".

I think the "said" cars are worlds apart in terms of sector but I suspect unless there is a huge amount of difference in driver ability, there will "Not be much in it" in terms of making progress. I'd say the Mountune ST would pip it though..... chip the 335D however and I reckon it would then depend on driver ability.

i felt it. was on a series of roundabouts, so round the first then flick back to take the second i felt the wheel drop down onto the road again.

Just rememebr that a decat will void your insurance Paul and is illegal to use on the road and could end up with teh car being crushed if they wanted to - I personally would never touch a decat for the slight power it makes but it's up to you.

Just get a sports cat - I know they are 5 times more expensive, but they give similar gains and all within the law, plus you wont have to mess about come MOT time, although I know you have 3 years for that yet.

Delivery that quick! I really want one, but I only just got the K1.

Stage 2 plus k04 vs stage 2 plus rs will be interesting.

Similiar HP but RS has 80lbft more torque but weight 100kg more also. Cant wait to see the outcome.

Sure you're bazzed up Focus is faster than almost anything on the road. Sure your 150ish lbs/ft deficit makes no difference, sure your front heavy FWD car is much faster than a perfectly balanced RWD car, yes yes yes - your ST is a slayer of all other cars.

Never heard that before.

We don't have any race circuits down here - we don't need them. We have 100s of miles of fantastic driving roads. I tell you what you come down and bring your chavvy little hot hatch and see how it fairs on real driving roads, not some totally flat and smooth race track.
3 or 4 so years after I last came on SCN, and matteeboy is still a idiot.

Is your oil burning hearse mapped?

PM from matteeboy lol

I see you've impressed all at SN with your oscene chav comments about your insipid, poor handling hot hatch.

Well done - oh and the FQ340 claims really sealed it for me and everyone else.

Yet another deluded chav in a shoddy hatch thinking his shed is some kind of supercar.

At least an ST handles. A Leon doesn't.

Priceless.

Now **** off.
I could post vids, but dont want to put people in jeopardy of loosing their license, like ben ctr who saw off a B7 RS4 in his poor handling, slow, golf gti ed30, leon counter part.

Yes was very lucky ( well hopefully as not here yet ) I called in @ one dealer & if i placed the order Aug 09 , i may have been lucky & got the RS March / April 2010 Bit to impatient for that

Was advised by Spec C 57 To visit Calvin @ Rates Ford ( Grays) Who can supply the RS nice & quick to any spec reqd , so deposit was paid & order placed with them , now just waiting

What kind of person stoops to such a level of PMing such baws. I remember Nacro sending a few in the big bad bogey man kind of way. Ah well just shows the levels of insecurity of some people.

Those of you who frequent Pistonheads may remember the username DXB335D, utterly priceless posting and kind of reminds me of Matteeboy.

Especially the posts of "It's fast than an E46 M3!!!" well congratulations, I would hope it was faster than a car designed over 9 years ago otherwise BMW would have appeared to have been taking a fecking huge holiday. Now what about compared to the current M3?? as I thought miles behind.

I wonder if there was the same reaction when the 330ds came out, did people suddenly shout out "you know it's fast than an E30 M3!!"

But in both cases the M cars would be considerably more desirable to a petrolhead over the diesel counterparts.

Anyway enough about beemers or i will start ripping my own car for being a boring, comfortable, well appointed (with the lovely 18's)..........stop stop must stop.

The Focus RS look great, has a great presence on the road, and sounds pretty decent, if I got one i'm pretty sure I would never get to the point where i'm thinking "you know the handling at the edge is a little squirrely"

As a sure as eggs is eggs I would be through a dry stone wall a few moments later.
