In the end, I had to use rubbing compound to get the worst of the muck out, followed by the claybar, then a polish with a very fine cut to it and topped it off with Carnuba wax. Car looks a lot better but it needs to be machine polished. Will be borrowing Wilfs buffer and going over it all again!

silver one not really, just was a very famous jockey who owned it almost from new when he imported it, had engine forged big turbo and lotsa roger clarke stuff done to it just before xmas, and he was paralysed in a accident, car was off road for 4 1/2 years, not started hence the rebuild,
blue one nothing had few days, dont go anywhere as i work nearly 60 hrs a week, lol

Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket open an account on there (free) then upload your pics from your pc. when they're on copy and past the img link into your post on here.

if the scratches aren't showing on camera then a good polish such as menzerna rd3.02 applied by hand on a german applicaotr pad should remove them. rd3.02 can also by applied using machine. it's the polish i use on all my details. Make sure you wash the area fully, dry, claybar, wash again, dry and then you're ready to polish. Once it's polished protect the paint with a good wax etc. I think Paul used to use the Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection on there. If you stick with the same you'll get the same look without having to polish the whole car.
