I assume that includes gauges ????
Personally think its a bit ugly - too much like an add-on. But still so much cheaper than the R-Vit or HKS Camp2.

The Zero Sports pod is £250 without the gauges... (If you notice they are Defi's on the sample pic... you aint gunna get a pod and 2 defi's for £250 )

tbh I didn't look too closely as I am not particularly interested in a pod - so assumed for that money it would include a couple of gauges. As it doesn't that is a ridiculous amount for the pod. Makes the Camp2 look good value !

Stan, what about going DIY? change the head unit over to a single din and make up your own guage plate to fill the 2nd din slot that the chnage creates.

Then again, I'm lucky as I dont need guages for the aga under my bonnet

Another option, gives your passenger something to look at too!!

Not a fan myself especially as you need to disable the airbag, worth a mention though and will continue the search.

Hi Simon - sorry - you lost me after the first sentence ! Will hope for translation Thurs + look at the camera system !
Checking out at local car IcE centre today if its possible to use std dvd screen with Camp2. Also with Subaru garage to check OBD connection/info etc.

Hi ScoobyL
Camp2 and R-vit from Blitz take outputs from the OBD on the car which have (if I understand it correctly) all data from engine - AFR, boost, etc etc except oil pressure and temp. Unfortunately both companies only test their stuff on JDM cars so have no idea if their stuff will work on Euro cars
As it costs about £750 (+ fitting) I am a bit pst off that I am having to do their R&D for them

Now this is an interesting option, especially for gauges that you do not have to keep an eye on all the time!!

Is this not a cheaper and neater option for gauges?
DevToaster - Rev - iPhone app development, Great iPhone apps, and more

I'm just struggling to make the screen stay on when the car moves

Tried shorting pin 4 gray wire as I seen on the net, but doesn't work
Anyone had any look with the standard head unit?

I know, It almost as if the MD walked in and said 'right we need a gauge pod for the 08 Inpreza by 2pm', they found a bit of plastic, drilled 3 holes and went to the pub for a job well done!!!

Its not been well recieved in the states either, guess it would be ok for a non road car though.

Check out my other link though, that could work.

Silver Demon,

How does the i-phone know the boost levels? Is there a bluetooth sensor plugged into the ecu somewhere?

So much better than the gauges !

But I still like the HKS/Blitz etc as you get a multi gauge analogue display + digital readouts of more static factors all at the same time.

Wifi sender plugs into the OBD2 port on the ecu.

Can't for the life of me remember who makes it though.

Hello everyone.

I actually really like the new hatch STI's
Not so much the WRX S

I'm in the process of buying a new STI330S - Dark Grey

The deal is probably 95% done at this stage and I reckon I could be getting it on Friday.

Cheers,
Shaun

Looks a very neat solution..so we just need someone to solve the screen shut-down when on the move...

Welcome Shaun... this is our "safe haven" from all the "stuck in the 90's" members on here..

Stuck in the 90's
Thats all those classic boys

Solving screen shut down on the move - you mean watching video?

It can be done and has been done - I discovered one case when searching for my bluetooth issue on the nasioc forum I believe

I'll look for it later on - no doubt it in my browser history.

Yes, well, enabling the i-phone/touch to display on the nav screen while the car is in motion...

I think that's the mod Silver Demon was talking about, grounding the grey wire... but it hasn't worked on the UK head unit...maybe the US get a slightly different nav unit?

If you get your 330s head unit working on the move then let us know Shaun.

It seams Subaru were intent on making the hatch dash impossible to mount a nice looking gauge pod... and I like my headunit too much to go down the single din option.... so it's £199+£180+£100 for a defi link solution (boost gauge only) or a system through the head unit disply (like Silver demon has)

I've already bought a £25 A-Pillar mount and a cheap £25 manual boost gauge but I just cannot bring myself to fit them....

I've tried everything to keep the display on while moving, but had no joy

Not sure if it uses the GPS data?

Doubt it would use the GPS, but could use the speed sensor quite feasibly.

It maybe linked via the handbrake,as a lot of multimedia players are.If so,it may be easily overcome...
Ive a JVC AVX 810 and you tube had a few "how to" guides on watching movies on the go.May possibly be using the same principal

I now have the iphone mounted on a tomtom holder on the windscreen so no longer display it on the headunit as i have to look down for that.

That's what my dealer told me, he slackened off the hand brake as he doesn't use it (!!) and the DVD / video screen is usable.
He didn't mention which car even though he knew I ws asking about the Impreza.
