Less is more imo. I've regretted every bit of coloured pipework and trim I've ever put on my cars, because it ends up looking tacky and cheap unless it's kept immaculate.
But if sitting at shows with the bonnet is up is your thing, then I suppose you've got to follow the crowd.

Kind approach I go for. Try to stick with what would be OE look. Only thing remaining on mine to do is replace hard intake pipe for one that looks identical to the IC pipework. I have it but its larger diameter than what's there so need map tweak for it

Wouldnt mind a black battery cover/top also

Hi all.

Can anyone confirm or deny that this is the correct ECU for 2007-10 STI?

Thanks Don.

Not expecting a mad dash, but will leave this here, the ECU (not the case) is available for sale if anyone with JDM car needs a replacement or spare, just note i cannot verify it's in working order.

Default CAI

My car has an AEM CAI, with the metal plate that blocks it off from the rest of the engine bay - should the front arch liner have a cut out at the bottom to allow airflow? It currently does have a big cut out (the corner is missing) but I’m not sure if this is required. I’d rather just replace the arch liner to keep everything neat and dry!

my last hatch Sti had the exact same cut out, so I’m guessing it’s either a common issue or a common mod!

Is there any point to the factory PPF? It was all stone chipped to death unfortunately. Just had pretty much a complete respray, really pleased with the paint job.

anyway, the car is coming along nicely. Just a few minor bits to sort, the red is now my favourite colour.

id be investing in a set of mudflaps for it - that'll save the rear quarters a bit in future

there’s a very cheap complete bonnet on eBay at the mo (£50). Nothing to do with me, but it’s probably your cheapest / easiest option if you can collect.

I haven't noticed a cut out and will check later. I'm about to fit a cai and would be concerned about water ingress down there.

Large amounts of water ingress in relation to engine damage isnt so much a big deal but rain run off, damp & crud down in there does mean filters get very bad state very quickly if it's a daily driver in all weather. I fitted a k&n hydrophobic sock to my latest filter on it after this happened

Changing to a short ram intake once I get mapping slot

Gambit, does your car have a cut out in the wheel arch liner? That old filter looks pretty dirty. I’m just going to order a new liner I think, I’m pretty sure the cut out shouldn’t be required for the intake.

mine won’t be daily driven, so shouldn’t age too badly due to damp / rain / crud.

Where abouts is the cut out and I'll get a look today as swapping wheels over on car so perfect opportunity to have a look

it’s the bottom corner of the arch liner, directly behind the fog light. You would only see it from under the car

had a look and there does seem to be a gap on mine, though mine also has bumper bar and lower valance behind bumper removed due to front mount so not sure how much these pics will help
