Not a lot of updates, the car sailed through its MOT and had its yearly service at TDR (oil/filter & brake fluid); I only drove less than 800 km since the last service/MOT !
I've been humming and harring about fitting the S206 suspension I have but if I sold it it would fund a sports cat downpipe and a remap, decisions decisions!
Furthermore, after countless hours of polishing I have almost finished with the exterior paint correction (just the rear bumper and hatch door left to wax). It's the first time I've used these products and I really like them. The paint had a lot of holograms, swirls and a few scratches courtesy of its previous Japanese owner(s) but luckily there was enough thickness (~120μm in most places) to allow for correction. I used Angelwax Resurrection on an orange polishing pad (2 passes per panel) followed by Angelwax Redemption on a blue finishing pad (2 passes per panel). The panels were cleaned with Bilt Hamber cleanser fluid, a process which I have skipped in the past but which is very important in order to get rid of the oils found in polishes and should allow the wax to bond better. I've sealed with Fusso soft 99 wax.
I’ve got that fusso and I didn’t find it any good. Only because I found it alot harder to remove that the r222. Obviously it looks like a fantastic wax which I will definitely have another go of 👍
Has anyone fitted the Pedders front strut mounts to their hatch that can give me some feedback, cheers. Latest Whiteline replacements have lasted less than a year.
Whiteline's parent company Redranger combined with Fulcrum Suspension to create Zeder Corp in 2019. They own Superpro and Nolathane, who possibly made bushes for Pedders. Pedders appears to be quite separate from Redranger/ Zeder in the UK.
Let's hope they don't cheapen Superpro and lower the quality to Whiteline levels.
Gleaming. Did you garage it over Covid, or something else?
Took it off the road Nov 2018. Needed belts, bushes, battery and a few other bits. Then COVID got in the way lol. Hoping for some roads trips in the summer 😊
It looks stunning Fivos, great work, the hours of work you've put in have deffo paid off

Thanks guys! @johno01 I did up to 2 panels at a time and it was fine removing it (left it no more than 5-7 mins to cure). When I did more than 2 panels and left it longer it was a bugger to remove indeed. When that happened I used Fusso's quick detailer spray (same ingredients as the Soft 99 wax but in liquid form) on a microfibre cloth and buffed it. It's best to use as little as possible.
out of curiosity do you get water ingress through the bonnet vents or how do you deal with it?
Only managed 2x 5 lap runs WOT on low boost, it was horrendous with aquaplaning on the straight at well over 100 mph was no fun, packed up at lunch and headed home. Hopefully Cadwell will be a better experience in July.
If the photographer was on the ball, the second lap would have been a belter image with TC off having a moment on the well worn R888's, I certainly skipped a beat
When moving the vents don't let water in, they are rear facing. The scoop lets more through, ideally I wouldn't have bothered, but it was an expensive exercise to not have a play, the track day, fuel, overnight stay, and the last minute dash to have the car ready for what I can only describe as SOAKING.
The engine bay isn't a show and shine, so providing the electrics don't get wet, I don't suck in any water, and that the bodywork is protected I'm comfortable.

100mph aquaplaining wouldnt be the nicest of feelings
i bought a blanking plate for my scoop similar to this but different brand just to stop front end lift - and had been looking at ideas for vents similar setup to yours but water ingress is my main issue - as its a daily driver also https://www.verus-engineering.com/sh...sti-gr-gv-1524
After a lot of humming and harring about fitting the S206 suspension that I have I've decided to put it up for sale. It's in mint condition having come from a car with 10.5k miles. Part numbers: Fronts: 20310ZR060, 20310ZR070 Rears: 20365ZR030 IMHO it's the best OEM suspension that Subaru has made and if I didn't have other plans I'd fit it! You won't find another one at this price. It will fit hatches and saloons from 2008 onwards. £1600

@hedgecutter I get mine fitted on Thursday next week I will let you know.

That will be good. I'm looking at Moore Sport and Racecomp ones with camber adjustments, and Exe TC ones. Exe TC provided Prodrive with the WRC suspension in 2001, then WRC winners Citroen for some years. They are camber and castor adjustable, but would need to be modified for oem shocks. Whiteline are sending me another new set, if anyone wants some!
Fitted the upper Subaru sports grill, a Zunsport lower one and R205/S206 wing garnishes.
I've decided to fit the S206 suspension bits so my 20th anniversary take offs will be for sale.

good comparison for you, standard size wheel/tyre with et40 doesnt rub
225 is too narrow for a 8.75 wheel, 235 is marginal too.
The OEM dimension tyres for the OEM wheels (8.5") are 245/40/18.
ET35 seems too low , personally, I'd stay as close to OEM specs as possible.
