Here's my winter look. Albeit ridiculous amount road salt will keep this at hibernation for the most part of the winter. Sadly. But just in case there's snow or few clean, dry, crispy winter days ...
Has anyone got a Red key flashing on there dash when car is locked. I went to my car today and couldn’t get in with the remote so I open it with the little key, alarm went off and I couldn’t turn it off, so I run inside and got the spear key but no joy there neither, alarm still going off at this time , so run inside again and changed the batter in key fob , sorted turned the alarm off and locked / unlocked the car , but I’ve noticed now when I lock the car there is a Red key flashing on dash , not sure if it was there before hand
Ok thanks Rob, just checked mine again and it flashes twice every few seconds when locked / flashes once every few seconds when unlocked / and when I lock it again it flashes constantly for around 15 seconds then twice every few seconds again, thanks for your response
I'm thinking of a set of speedline turini wheels. Anyone have any pics and if I go 18x8.5" what offset to make sure no issues with brakes. I don't want to mess about with spacers.

Nope hadn't seen it. Any idea max thickness of spacer before needing longer studs, asking as have a set of wheels with winter tyres i had bought for a hawkeye but they just contact the calipers on the hatch. I'm away to check how many turns on the nuts but have a feeling even 5mm spacer will need longer studs.
And with the turini, im not interested in widening the car so if 55 works for them or even 52 id be ok.

Speedline turini work without issue on offsets you mention.
sorry yes on the Hatch specific they are ET52 albeit I believe there is a lower offset wheel in the pipeline with 8.5" rim
lower offset would be interesting! et45, or even et42 which is what cosworth used on their one of pro race 1.3's for the CS400 - might have me pull the trigger on a set
In apr 2020 I'd terminal engine failure on forged bottom end....head studs pulled through block
Anyhow it's now back woohooo fresh bottom end build and loads of stuff rectified that was just done wrong by the engine build done by previous owner back in 2014...in fairness it held up for 5yrs, was still on std power 325bhp when bought it then I moved it up to 420bhp gradually over the years but never touched bottom end
Other major stuff done included removing AOS setup and going with RCM return to sump catch can. Got the cosworth rear bilsteins refurbed by bilstein themselves also fitted brand new revised spec C my11-12 front wishbones. Included a pic of hid sensor fitting as there is no mounting bracket on revised arms like the my08-10 arms have
All work completed by OMA in N.Ireland.
Glad to have it back long 20mths not helped by covid which caused most of the delay!!

Congrats Gambit, it will feel like driving a new car for a few reasons, obviously because the engine has been rebuilt but also you've not been able to drive it for a couple of years. It will be kind of bugging for the first 1,000 miles where you'll have to potter around at under 3k revs esp after being out of the car for so long as you'll just want have some fun in it, enjoy it again

Strange getting use to it again after driving the other halfs audi a3 for so long
Initial break in has been done by OMA so I'm on 1/2 - 3/4 throttle with no prolonged heavy load periods....handy enough I've done a few run ins before on other cars so have decent understanding of concept and mechanical sympathy
But even half throttle in I mode is still more than the wee audi a3 1.6 tdi pulls lol
Anyone know if you can get the r205 rear diffuser in the UK.

Would a uk dealer get the part or do i need to import myself.
Its probably cheaper and quicker to import from Japanparts or Rhdjapan, or buy on their auction sites like Bidjdm. Dealers will be reluctant but worth a try. They do come up for sale here occasionally, and there is a very faint chance that I may be forced to sell mine in the spring if a new exhaust doesn't fit around it.
Picked this 2.0 JDM up 2 months back. Just had a full service/health check by Murray Motorsport with an HKS sports cat fitted, process west cai, RCM fuel pump and a remap from Bob Rawle. Cars now putting out 370BHP on crappy N.I Super unleaded lol. I can't thank Davy & the guys enough for supplying & fitting the parts at short notice.
Looks really nice Kev, it's nice piece of mind having Bob map the car as you'll know everything is running right and it's been optimised to its best performance with the components you have. Do you have any future plans for it ?

Did you drill through the lower control arms to fit the bracket at the same location where the 08 arms had the mount?

Yeah got a bracket made up and then a small hole drilled into arm and short bolt used to hold bracket on, the hole isnt drilled right through, just deep enough to get a few threads on the bolt given there isnt too much pressure exerted on the hid sensor arm
