Yeah tell me about it :/ bit of a nightmare and wasn't expecting this. It it had the correct map on it, not entirely sure why it's happened tbh, if it's not the map what's the other possible reasons?

have you been in touch with the garage you got it from?did you get any kind of warranty with it?quite a few horror stories around about the 2.5 engines.i was worried when i got mine as i came from a jdm bug and knew i was taking a risk.so far so good for me tho, mind you after speaking to a previous owner of my car mine also let go but was rebuilt with forged parts!

330s maps were better and if serviced at main dealer any map updates should have been done years ago.

You're Bad?

Hard to say without knowing once stripped down.

Ran on wrong fuel
Bounced off rev limiter too much in the red.
Wrong oil used.

Ringland failure
Head gasket

If you have a new head gasket make sure the bottom end is checked at same time.

Its been known some have just had head gasket replaced and within miles a knocking heard from the bottom end.

Is it with Andy Kindon by any chance? He rebuilds most 2.5s around the North East including mine.

Nice beast.

My 2009 330S did the same at 3 years 3 months old, 32000 miles!

Had over heated / blown out water once, then OK for a few months, then did same on rolling road.

Ringland on No.4 ( rear piston, passenger side ) and head gaskets.

I bought a 2008 STI 330s around four months ago, however the engine went bang a few weeks back. Head gasket failure as well as ringland etc.

Only managed to take one pic.... Looking forward to getting the car back

Thanks mate. Jeez yours went quite soon in comparison to mine. I didn't do any research before buying this car/model. Pretty silly really. I always wanted the hatch since the day It came out. Still I'm pleased I've got it

I paid for one (deposit in Feb, then the rest) only to get told they had sold to many and there was not one for me

So i doubt they have 2 in stock.

That was bad, but i think i will just get mine recovered now as flat bottom is a PITA.

Just order it from Japan like I did with mine , take a bit longer but worth the wait and cost about the same really
