Any reason why these are not so common ?

Cobb AP is only designed for use with USDM ECU's something to do with how different the rom's are between the US and EU / JDM market

Or are USDM Ecu's so different from UK/EUDM ones ?
Actually you dont have to use the cobb provided maps... but if you do they are a good starting point.. Any tuner can use them to make a pro map.. cobb also comes with its own tuning software that is completely free... so not only can you switch maps on the fly for different fuel or boost levels but continuously live tune

I guess the quality is naff and will discolour sunlight or something...?
I got one of the STI style ones from ebay in carbon fibre seems ok its a 99.9% perfect fit and the job is a bit fiddly, you will need some very basic wiring up skills as the light doesn't come with an oem clip also the rear window washer is a bit of a faff and you will need a hot glue gun or use silicone sealant to hold the insert plate in.

Looks good. Have you got any close up pics of the weave of the carbon and is it weathering ok? Thanks

Default Geometry Settings

Hi all,

Getting some new boots fitted today so seems like a good time to get then geometry checked and reset.

Back in the old days we always referred to "Prodrive Setting" can't remember exactly what they were, but the tyre and wheel sizes have changed dramatically since the days of the classic Impreza.

Are there any specific setting people are using on their hatches?

Not really you just need someone who knows how to setup a car and explain your intended use and what kind of handling you prefer.

All cars are different due to tolerances so it may not be possible to exactly implement a specific setting. Also depends what hardware is available (camber bolts, adjustable top mounts etc)

Ideally settings that introduce a bit more front end confidence, the old cars felt much heavier on the steering responses. These hatches grip no problem but don't feel as if it is going to, they need a great leap of faith, well that is what I feel anyway so settings to increase the feel from the front in the corners would be great.

That's more to do with the steering, there tends to be a lack of feel with them.

Litchfield can revise the steering feel, not sure if other places can do that also.

Powerstation & Litchfield will revalve your power steering to increase feel and both offer full geometry and handling packs. Hope to get mine done soon.

There are recommended setting as had mine set up when I had it and I'm sure they will be in this thread (between 2009 and 2010) somewhere, IIRC they were the same if not very similar to the old prodrive ones.

Note sure where you are located but Elite in essex did mine and think they had them on file.

On a similar topic, would the use of non standard offset like ET35 affect the geometry?

To any lowered hatch owners ,,, what have you done about the headlight angel adjuster as its set by the ride hight ? And wouldn't it assume you now have a full boot and ajust the headlights to low ?

I left it be, if it's angle then that really does not change when lowered as you drop all four corners and not just the rear!

But isn't the sensor on the rear so when the car is full it doesn't point up and blind people ,, I know when speaking to Bob rawle about his hawk he had cheveron move the mountings for the sensor so they worked as they should as they went into default and were too low and was just thinking has anyone else had to do the same

as long as the 4 corner are dropped then the sensor system will adjust the lights too a completely incorrect area. just manually adjust the motors on the rear of the lamps to re align
