Fitted a boost gauge on the steering column but what's the best place to tap into for power for the light?

Just go from a switch live somewhere (not a permanent live). I run mine from spade connector on back of cigarette lighter with no problems

As for the fuel rails I will have a look into the minefield that they are along with fuel lines etc. [/QUOTE]

I'm just replacing the perrin rail kit on mine .... Rails are a nice bit of kit BUT the fuel lines and how they connect to the rails are not 😕 sprung clips.... They were okay at 390bhp but once over 450 they began to seep. Not all of them but some had to be replaced with jubilee clips which are not a perfect seal neither.

They were holding for a couple of months then I'd get petrol smells intermittently 😩. Where the fuel lines connect to the rails is the big problem. Enginetuner are aware of the issue and tried a new type of clip which was not successful - ie one day all good then next day seeping.

A right pain. I'm just about to pull the trigger on the RCM rail and braided line kit @£540 ! Totally fed up with the problem so it's about biting the bullet and doing it right.

FWIW I generally think Perrin stuff is great. I recently replaced the Forge CAIK which was certainly good (Litchfields still recommend / use them) but the Perrin kit is superb - not only an absolutely moosive filter but a properly sized maf connection complete with air straightening vanes which help for totally super smooth mapping. Highly recommend it over any others out there - it's unique.

However the fuel rail kit is another story. If you're under 400 then fine - over that and you may have probs. bTW mine failed after approx 10,000 miles of use

Get the RCM kit including the hoses, all proper unions then, no clips or push fit hoses.

Its the same as the japspeed kit, the fit was OK it came with different pipes for WRX or STI fitment. I was not so happy with the pipe route near the battery so I changed them for some mishimoto pipes.

how have you fitted them, looks like you've bolted them to the actual front bumper?

They are bolted to the vertical strip of the bumper, I made a strong bracket so they are nice and secure.

so if you take your bumper off they are still attached?

could you not fit them to where the original one went on the inner frame support?

You could fit them anywhere you want, I wanted mine central as shown in the pics.
If I do want to take the bumper off its 4 spade connections on the horns then there off with the bumper.

Default Rear suspension bushes - PU

Bit of assisstance needed here
- for the rear trailing arms front and rear bushes, and diff mountings front and rear, and the lower track arm inner bush, are the bushes easy to remove - i.e. not needing a press to push out metallastic types?

Putting in Whiteline or Powerflex PU bushes seems OK as they are generally split each side.

Thanks

V

Default Gearmox mounts, shifter linage etc

Fitted these bits and bobs last week, to reduce the movement under the car on rough roads or on off throttle in traffic.

Perrin gear box mount - very nice

Perrin front shifter bush ( on the rod that the gear lever sits in )
Name: linkbush_zpsb4838a8a.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 32.9 KB

Perrin rear shifter support ( ditto )

Seems much smoother drive now, no gear lever wobble at all even over rough tarmac or hard on/off throttle.
Had a little reluctance to get into 5th especially pressing on or flat foot shifting, all gone now ( so not a syncro problem, Subaru !! )
Very very slight vibration increase in gearknob, and a slight whine from gears at low speed / revs in low gears.
All perfectly acceptable.

Looking for fitting advice for the parts listed as 6,7,9,15,16.
Are the OEM bushes easy to remove or do I need to find a garage with a press?
Thanks

In the end I decided to go for an uprated parallel fuel rail setup using CDF Racing fuel rails as they use unions rather than hose tail connections, plus luckily a mate has an unused brand new set which I had for a good price.

The rest of the setup will be supplied by Torques who do some very nice unions, braided hose, distribution blocks, fuel pressure regulators in fact everything you need and at very good prices as well.

With top mount.

It now sits in the wing because of the FMIC.

Love your hatch mate. Quick question, where abouts did you source your blue radiator stays from? Looking to get mine replaced as thry are quite rusty

I also picked up a set of Cosworth AP 355mm front brakes from Domino46 last week, plus I also had delivered a Mishimoto cold air induction kit as well.

I need to source a new set of brake pads, I'll probably go with Performance Friction fast road rated pads.

They came up on this very thread and I was on them like a tramp on a sandwich.

I then made sure that I picked them up from Steve (Domino46) as soon as I could.
