Look on scoobyclinic website. I'm sure I've seen a Perrin one I think its about 50quid

I believe he's looking for the Turbo to intercooler elbow not intercooler to manifold pipe.

What was the OEM turbo?[/QUOTE]

I was sure it was a tdo4, but I read somewhere recently it is a different model on the hatch.
I tried to find the pics from when I sold mine as I took some of the model number, but I must of deleted them.
Any way its quite model specific as the top mount bolts straight to it, it has a 2 bolt flange on it not a standard compressor housing you can clamp a hose to.
Here is the only pic I could find, which shows a adapter I had to change the intercooler.

I know in the States hatch WRXs have an IHI VF52 but I've never seen a reference to that turbo on this forum and was just wondering what the OEM turbo is in a UK spec WRX Hatch.

I've got an SH model (MY10) Forester XT which has the same engine as the hatch WRX but a different turbo (TD04) and I'm in the upgrade process. All of my upgrades (including a VF52 currently on its way) have come from America but I had the thought recently that UK WRXs must also have a similar sized turbo that I should have considered and been aware of.

Anyway, due to the fragility of the engine, I will be going no further than my current build (E85, ID1000 injectors, DW65c Fuel Pump, 3" dump) and then adding the VF52 and larger TMIC. That should get me to 200kw atw, which, fingers crossed, is enough power but not enough to blow the engine (although I am aware it is a risk and am prepared to pay).

Thanks for your help anyway.

So do I except the huge loss and start again with the STI/type R, or do I stick a PPG kit in the WRX?
I am planning on staying below 400hp anyway.

Got to say mate I'm with you, I've been looking to maybe px the wrx hatch and get into an sti but because my car is low miles and in great condition I'm worried that I'll have problems with another. Maybe I've had my luck with this one and should keep hold 😁😁😁😁😁😁

Well I have made my decision, I have bought an SC40 and have been in contact with PFITZNER and they recommended a helical synchro kit, so I am going to fit the turbo and then remap, hopefully near 390hp then see how long the 5 speed lasts before buying the helical synchro kit.

Mine has 35k on an 08 full service and not a mark on her. Your right all the sti local are high miles and when I drive mine I can't see why I'd want to change but when I read this thread or look on Instagram I want wide arches.

Thought you upgraded your turbo? Or am I wrong. The six speed would be nice aswell. See if I was at your stage and I'd spent out already then it make a harder dicision but I haven't yet spent and big money so could spend that money on upgrading to sti. I'm so confused I do love mine but sti is calling

35k is low, you should still get a decent price for it if you decide to upgrade to the STI. I would if I was you, at least you will have all the right bits to start with, and your wide arches.
Mine has just past 50k

some nice looking hatches on here.i currently have a 2002 jdm bugeye but im being seriously tempted to get a hatch sti i have seen for sale.the engine has previously failed but has been rebuilt with parts that are of of a good standard.the garage selling it has good feedback and reviews but i can not find anything on the garage that re-built it.i have emailed the builder and am awaiting a reply.i have been informed the bottom end has been re-built and parts used include 2012 lightweight crank, acl race bearings(big end and main)new oem oil pump and oil pick up pipe, oil pump, sump, oil cooler gaskets, water housing o-rings,skimmed block, cosworth headgasket and arp stud heads, also an exedy clutch.the car has coverd 57000 miles and completed 1000 miles since the rebuild.it also has full service history.what im asking is if you hatch guys think this sounds ok?would make a good car?what other questiins would you ask the seller and what other things would you reccomend i.e pistons/rods?.any help or information greatly appreciated, cheers, ryan.

Can't imagine why if they have done all that work they never put forged pistons in, its the pistons that are the issue so could go again if I am not wrong!

Maybe they did and never wrote it down on the list of parts!

i have asked them on a few occasions about this and they say that no forged internals(pistons/rods)have been used in the re-build,cheers,ryan.
