Guys, this may sound daft but I'd like to change my two radiator hoses to some nice new Perrin ones, my question is when I take off the old ones will they be full of coolant or will there just be a little bit in them? Thanks

Yesterday saw a few more enhancements to my Hatchback STi - fit the front fog lamps, Summit Racing front strut brace and Zunsport lower grille.

As you can see my TMIC is pretty much FUBAR'd mainly due I believe to a logo being sprayed onto it plus I thinking someone has got a little too close with a pressure washer as well.

Given that the car is going for a remap soon plus future modification plans I am not going to bother straightening out the bent fins, instead I am getting AH Fabrications to make me a custom TMIC out of a high quality core which will negate the need for a FMIC and will retain the OE look.

Plus looking at other cars is always a mistake as it leads to new ideas, thankfully this isn't an expensive item but it will fit in nicely with some plans I have for improving the interior of the car.

Now the engine work is done and the car is mapped i have made a start on the engine bay, cleaning all the green wax off and starting to do a bit of colour coding still got my mishimoto coolant hoses to fit and paint my intercooler pipes but its already looking a lot better!

Love that clyne great work, IMO I think you need a strut brace will complete the back part of the bay because you are right when you lose the top mount it leaves a big void looking great though

Yep japspeed/2fast2cool same kits i believe?
It came with loads of extra pipes some for STI fitment and some for WRX, but the WRX pipe to inlet manifold wasn't the best fit it went over the oil filler cap so i ordered some mishimoto hoses and clamps and rerouted it!
I fancy a catch tank and like you say it would fill the void at the back.

That is the trouble, where to stop - I ordered the SI mode cover and now having seen your engine bay I want to order the belt cover, radiator cooling panel, boost solenoid cover plus the radiator stays as well.

This is it exactly, I just had a browse in the Perrin Catalogue and thought I needed some under car suspension items as My roll bars etc look a bit rough.

could spend a fortune in no time at all, Just ordered a front splitter off mark at HTautos. and still await these corbeau seats coming soon, so that should keep me occupied for a while

But with my plans Phil I'd not fancy cutting an £1300 intercooler kit up to fit what I want.

I'm going rotated at some point and the outlet from the compressor and inlet configuration is **** about face. All will become clear. the intake tract under the manifold will be the compressor outlet to the intercooler and were that inlet to the manifold is the intake filter and turbo will be sat there.

This maybe a question that has been asked before but what spark plugs are people using in their Hatchback STi's?

I seem to remember from my days of owning a Hawkeye WRX that the standard plug was a ILFR6B, is this still the case for the Hatchback and is there an upgraded / cooler grade available?

I've been using these NGK...ILFR7H since it was mapped @ 370 with CAIK, exhaust etc. and still use them on the 500/500 forged 2.5 build.

Another good choice I found were Denso VK22 - check the spec too.

I can't really find a definitive answer to this but is the removal of the secondary air pump along the same lines as on the newage 2.5 engines?

What I mean by that is the use of RCM or Cosworth blanking plates and the 'mapping' out of any error codes upon remapping.

Is this possible or not?

Another, but far easier question...
Just ordering oil now, will 5L be enough for a sti hatch? Is it about 4.5l capacity roughly? Thanks
