This thread is brilliant, well done to all who have contributed.

Here is my new car, bought from Hurst Cars. New cosworth engine fitted 2000 miles ago at powerstation. Mods to follow, rear lights to sort, red pin stripe for the grille, rear diffuser (maybe), and may refurb the alloys as I'm not 100% on the matt black.

DRL Halo time.
You need a set of these, I chose 100mm Morimoto xbaled units
20140713_174340 by Rostle84, on Flickr

I also chose not listed at this point was an Audi style DRL controller and made my own custom loom from my fuse box etc

First off headlamps in a pre heated oven 100c for 10 mins
20140713_211940 by Rostle84, on Flickr

Split the lamp with some gentle prying, Be warned they are incredibly hot at this point
20140713_195221 by Rostle84, on Flickr

Not show at this point was the hole I drilled to pass the plug through, Tape the halo in place. and mix up some of your own preferred adhesive, I was going to wire them but after some testing my industrial strength bond adhesive did the trick.
20140713_195215 by Rostle84, on Flickr

after letting the adhesive go off for an hour it looks something like this
20140713_214946 by Rostle84, on Flickr

Pre heat the oven again and stick the half sections back in again to soften the bonding
and tada push them back together and fit the screws in place, pop back in the oven for a final 4 mins to cure and jobs a good one

Where did you get the wheels from? And do mud flaps become mandatory?

just a few of my 2.0D RX, only mods so far were to fit mud flaps, change all the indicator bulbs to silver, and to fit a clear rear fog light with a red led. next step is a trip to Litchfield for their stage 1 boxer diesel tuning.

Perfect cheers Rob.

just to add if I was to do the above but keep Standard-ish power (about 360bhp) there would be no downside to having all this done?

if you know what I mean, ie with having all that done if a Bigger turbo etc isn't also done it would give negative effects?

There should be no negative effects at all, all positive's if done correctly

I paid the extra $3 for priority delivery. SO shoppongt was about $45

They arrived in 6days from ordering.

No customs duty to pay. As of yet lol

Even if you pay vat its only 20% like here. Importy tax would only be around 4.5%.

Importing my R205 rear defusser and black R205 side trims. The extra duty and parcel force's handling fee only came to £71 in total.
So still made it cost effective to import.

And to think you could have paid £34 for a pair of horns on ebay, ditched the unnecessary, for the Hatch, wiring harness, made yourself a bracket and saved about £70

Think you will find they are all made in India now, only a few out of Germany now........

and definitely high/low tones

A custom bracket that everyone has - could have put a bit of individuality into it
