Have you popped to Europa Subaru in Sheffield to see what they can offer you, I go there for my servicing... very nice ppl to deal with.
Hi mate
Any doubts with the engine work I will be walking away, yes it is a cheap car at £11995 but it will be even cheaper if purchased at the agreed deal

Europa is my local dealer, very good setup but very rarely have any impreza in stock, the car will be going straight there if purchased for a full health check

12 months warranty included on the car,and can be used at main dealerships

Is it worth asking them for a "trade" type deal where you buy it with its engine fault, I'm assuming you could get it at a heavily discounted price... Then take it to a reputable engine builder for a top notch forged build. The result should be a better deal all round

Do they know what the engine issue is?

It's above average mileage for the year.

330s go for around 15k depending age and condition.

At the right price get it re built.

Scooby clinic are local who could price you on that. Get it safely to 400bhp and enjoy.

Pop down to Nottingham and e could do a couple of photos together . All white?

First feedback is the rattle sound there guy seems to think it is the water pump bearing or main bearing ????

I'm not that well mechanically minded to make my own judgements, when I looked over the car the noise was apparent on idle tickover and seemed to be coming from the front of the engine around the lower cambelt cover area,I did not drive the car as they didn't want to risk any further damage and quite rightly too

I thought about a trade deal as they also stated that if it was a major issue I.e full engine rebuild then the car would be going to auction,so I mentioned I would still be interested but obviously around 7-8 grand and it would be trailered straight of to a specialist

Time will tell guys

Ps salsa

May we'll take you up on the meet offer if the car comes to fruit

Regards marcus

at that price buy it and spend a bit and get it right.. you're on a winner.
if you could get it nearer the 9-10k mark you're still going to be on the right side if you spend 4k on it

could you not get an independent point of view on it for a 2nd opionion.

if it goes to auction.. find out where it goes.. it could go cheaper if ppl don't want to touch it.

not sure, but have you seen this

the white hatch on their thumbnails is ScoobySammies car.... I've seen them on there, looks good, just not a cheap item being CF.

I take it you've looked at HTautos bottom line kit?
I had delivered last week the side skirts, just need to fit them now.

I think she's on here. I know shes on Midland scoobies too
You could google her.

My friend Craig has just fitted one on his car as he had the charge speed for Christmas. I'll text him and get him to post a pick up.

Fair enough.

However, I would bare in mind, that one would have thought, that a car still inside the standard warranty period, would be repaired under warranty should it fail with ringlands breaking.
Standard cars now - not cars that have had remaps etc.

If your mainly worried about ringland failure & getting it repaired under extended warranty Phil, Yeah they will repair it, but they are only going to use the same defective, sub standard materials to repair it with. I'd put the £608 to one side for a set of forged pistons.

Being realistic. If you were going to forge an engine. What's that really going cost, would you get it done and re mapped to 400bhp. . . Would I get it done for £3k?

If so I don't fancy spending that this year with other expenses I've got on. Got my 40th this year. ;-) lol

For how many years can you extend the warranty? If you're planning keeping it for at least a couple of years it's probably worth getting it done at approx 3.5k from someone reputable. But from what I can see you'd be maxing out the turbo at 380ish bhp.

If you just want to keep it for a couple of years then £1300 gives you the piece if mind.
