[QUOTE=James cleaver;11062548]
The PPP boxes come up now and again on here and ebay so keep your eye out, expect to pay around £200, I took off all the paint from inside the tailpipes which made them look nice and a little different.
Yes, I removed it on my hatch as back in 2009 no one did a deres pipe that would fit with the standard backboxes, combined with a ppp backbox it gave a really nice tone.
Cheers

Also is it ok to do this mod on the standard map!? And do you get more power out of it by doing this as the flow is increased?

Mapwise I'd not like to advise on due to the 2008 engine issues, when I did mine I added the deres and PPP IIRC without a map and only when I removed the second Cat did I have it mapped, choice/risk is upto you!

I had mine mapped pretty quickly by Duncan (aka Dynamix) as for a few hundread £'s it gave me a lot of piece of mind, and about 345bhp.

Should be but some MY08 engines seem to be fine with 50k miles a aftermarket catback, BOV and panel filter and some go bang totally standard at 5k miles so its a bit of a lottery.

In one word, NO, and your's being an import (as was mine) will no doubt be a very early 08 car too even though it was registered as an 09 as they only brought 1 or 2 batches over when the MY08's were first released.

They did not sell the MY08on STI in WR Blue in the UK, they all came over as parallel imports from a few specialist importers in late 2007 and were sold from early 2008.
If you look in your service book you'll proably see a dealer from Cyprus has stamped it.
You're car will most probably be spec'd on the inside better than UK car, if a base model may have heated seats or maybe a premium spec with push start, Recaros etc.
You'll not have a Subaru alarm or tracker but will have an aftermarket alarm, but will have a Subaru immobiliser.
No type UK sticker.
You will have heated mirrors.
Also you'll have better than the standard STI 17's.
And finally no Subaru locking wheel nuts.
Cheers

You'll also need to tell your insurance company as not all cover imports.

[QUOTE=urban;11062637]It was a long painfully slow job but with a flat blunt screwdriver I chipped most of the paint away, a few scores (but not too much force) and then using the flat part it slowly chipped off, then went round them with some wet and dry until all the paint was gone and I was just left with metal, then finally wire wool to polish them up.
Maybe a better pic

Them wheels are wicked. Really like them on the white hatch. I fitted Tein springs on my wrx hatch. -40 front -35 rear over the past 2 months the sag on the rear spring is ridiculous. They have gone from 13" to wheel centre to 12.5" to wheel centre. Next I would fit coilovers for deffo.
cheers,
I wouldn't want a drop like that. The Prodrive/Eibachs have a 10-15mm drop. So should make too much difference.
Picking car back up at the dealer on Saturday afternoon

Never saw it as an option on the Subaru literature and only ever knew of Stans old car in WR blue and a few that IIRC Motorpoint sold, happy to be corrected, god knows why they did not do it as a mainstream colour as it looks great!

Nice! How did you achieve this? I am thinking of doing my Genome like this but I imagine it is going to be a lot of work with a dremel and what attachment did you use, wirebrush?
Cheers!
Cheers!

Well got myself an official Subaru iPod interface. It's an option from the American market only but Subaru UK have just one in stock with a note of "test fit uk car" whatever that means, it'll be at my local dealer tomorrow morning
I tried to get along with the aux connector but its just dangerous trying to flick through playlists for songs.
It's a bit pricey but I've gone for an official Subaru one as it will connect with my stereo (no nav, no DAB) and it should mean no issues if I need to use the warranty for anything.
