08/09 Hatches, Stand up and show yourselves!!!
+1 on this, also got mines from the states and brill quality, fast shipping and no import tax, from BasonR on ebay.
Much more flexible than my old scott lowe hawk splitter and think it will last much longer.
+100 on that!
I wonder if there's a way to get the wing mirrors to fold when you remove the key from the ignition, and unfold when you put the key in?
It would have been too easy for Subaru to have done that in the factory..

Hey all... a quick question.

The concept Sti 380S - does anyone know who manufactured the exhaust for prodrive ?
It looks like magnex stylee.... but some one must know who manufactered it ?
WOuld it be the same peeps who make all their exhaust stuff ?
i'm sure someone on here mentioned that they knew who made all the prodrive stuff ?

you can see the paddles right behind the steering wheel.....

Just to let you know that figure was not verified on a dyno mate, it was what Simon's 'rolling road' function on the Ecutek mapping software said it was making, I reckon it would make more like 355-360bhp and 380lbft on a dyno...

Got talking to a really nice guy down in the New Forest today while I was out and about working, he had the first red MY08 STI I have seen on the road...looked great with tinted windows and dark grey prodrive 18s
I told him where we hang out...LOL

"Chops" says hello and thankyou BTW
Still wondering, can the Subaru a/v head unit be "programmed" to select other ECU readable functions like boost pressure, inj duty, MAF volts etc - seems odd it can read throttle position but not other installed sensors like MAP and MAF and items it controls...

Any one else tried the gauges on the sat nav display via the OBD 2 socket / wifi / Iphone ( itouch ) ? ( page 7 of this thread ).
Where does the OBD socket live in the hatch cars??
Is there any other way to get similar ECU parameters onto the screen?
And how is the pin 4 grounded - head unit out? ( or does disabling the switch on the handbrake do the job of allowing screen to be on in motion? )

Ohhhh thats harsh Dave........must say though considering it was 330 to start with the jump up to "384" felt fantastic not sure I would have felt such a jump in performance if it was 25/30 bhp more. When the ecu was reset back to standard before I sold it, the car felt really flat in comparision IMHO.

Simon is a mapping guru and no doubt got some great results with your car, but all the other mappers keep saying it's not possible with the PPP exhaust. But then again have they mapped one with a PPP yet etc.etc. Just waiting for Simon to map a PPP hatch STI on a dyno to see what he gets, I will be very pleased if it's around 380 on the standard turbo, fuel pump and injectors I can tell you, I will be booking in to see him asap after that
Still think you did the right thing you know, I bet your new car doesn't need coilovers and half of the whiteline catologue to handle the way we like...

Please say a big hello to Chops for me, bet he has grown a bit
All the best and still hoping to see you at Goodwood next year mate

Top tip is not to let go fo the wheel if ytou can help it - cross your hands a lot, but try not to feed the wheel through.
Enjoy

When I went they had me in a Clio and bizarrely a Merc Van (RWD). Gret fun - the best biot is side kicker - you approach a section of road at speed, as soon as you get your front wheels past it, a piston flings the section sideways, throwing the car into a spin. Yor task is to try and catch it! As you don't know which way it will fire the thing to do is try and relax and then get as much lock on and off again as quick as you can.

The instructor made me turn all the toys off - with no ESC the car was a total animal!!!!!
Made me respect the electronics for sure
I was using fixed position steering and that works most of the time, but on the kick plate at 35mph with no ESC this was not enough. Once I had figured out that I had to put nearly full lock on to avoid spinning I got quite good - and now I feel a lot more confident about what to do in bad situations - and how to read the signs the car gives before the limit is reached.
Best bit - the chief instructor (David Joyce) said when he's passed the limit in subaru's on the track he's only recovered 6 out of 10 times - hearing that from a pro driver made me think - I'll respect the wolf under my bonnet a little more from now

Worst bit - all the instructors called the car a Mazda 3 all day

I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone - loads of sliding about and no tire wear
